I concede the game. Jpn attack on NSW for the 6th VC failed miserably. Once I lost Queensland, my odds of taking NSW dropped to 60%. I rolled terribly and lost by a wide margin. Just as well, my intent was to build 3 ftrs in India and then the other builds didn’t matter, since there wouldn’t be another turn. But I forgot to build the ftrs and built nonsense. I edited at the end to build the 3 ftrs, in case the allies want to play it out and see if they capture India.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game and learned a lot about playing for the Pacific win. It all came down to: a mutually beneficial peace treaty with Russia; spending for offense in India and Africa rather than defense; and not using the difference to build a bigger invasion fleet sooner and with tt’s in place to maintain a beachhead in Queensland, for the final push on NSW. Thanks everyone for an exciting game, for me at least. Shall we move on to the change sides rematch (with or without the allied postscript attack on India?).

In the prior turn, I planned on using my homeland ftrs to replace ones that I expected to lose in the Solomons sea battle. When I didn’t lose any ftrs there, I should have sent the new ftrs to FIC, so they could land in India this turn. But I didn’t change my plans. Turns out those new ftrs were not able to participate against ANZ, and U.S. didn’t advance to within range. It never ceases to amaze me, considering how wild the dice can be, how the computer bat calc sim results change so much with a 2 or 3 unit change on one side or the other, when the total units are so large (over 80) and the attack and defense power numbers are so even (around 200).

I’d like to roll India. SA can do his soften attack first then I’ll roll on Sunday when I return from vacation. Good game all.
