Thanks Tirano. The reason that I didn’t take Southern France on the first turn is because I want to disguise my trip to the Med. I want the UK to have to bite on Sealion and they won’t know that the Italians aren’t taking S. France until after they have taken their first turn. Other than slipping a couple of units into Northern Italy (which I try to do inconspicuously)I have given no indication at all that I’m going to the Med. I don’t need to put units on the complex in S. France right away anyway so it wasn’t necessary to have it on the first turn.
Global 42 Quicker, faster

The Russians can take back 5 tts for a total of 7 IPCs, attacking 17 German units with 36 Russaian ones and the Germans are unable to counter as they have a third of their strength in the West. Looks hard for the Germans, but they can make headway in the Med.
it would be a brave UK player who builds an Evyptian IC.
UK starts without a Med TT too, so cannot threaten much.
It looks interesting and my friend and I shoukd get a few turns in next week. -
Can you edit the turn order in G40?
Or must a new game be created ?
-
Well, over at Harrisgamedesign, Krieghund said this:
Yes, it’s legit, but there are some errors in the post that need to be corrected, most notably the turn order.

Wonder what the actual turn order is then…
-
Turn order is
Russia-Germany-Italy- UK pac & eur - Anzac - Japan - US - China - FranceThe board feels empty for me compared to G40
The German bulge in Russia is getting crushed on Russian turn 1 for sureStill I see lots of interesting decisions. US have ground troops at Guadalcanal and can already strike other Japanese islands
Pictures of the initial setup (sorry for bad quality)
http://s1365.photobucket.com/user/duboismerci/library/?sort=3&page=1 (uploaded each pics 2 time my bad again)Only problem I see is that the setup says 1 italian mech inf in Tunisia but also says 1 french inf in Tunisia
and Shan state is empty, seems kinda odd for me -
So the turn order is normal G40 ?
That is much better :) -
Nothing is concrete about G42 yet.

@Uncrustable:
Nothing is concrete about G42 yet.
Why?
That’s why:

Too few units. Not very interesting I think.
-
I started a game
I am at turn 3 and everything seems closeGerman made a tactical mistake but the imperial navy task force is next to Sydney preparing for an assault.
-
Too few units indeed, looks like an almost direct copy of the 1942 2nd edition setup, tweaked to fit the bigger board.
Rather than a “from the ground up” setup.
Good news is, in the spirit of my some what well know Global 1941 setup, I have made a global 1942 setup with more units. -
Looks real nice
Could you link your 1941 setup? -
This setup was copied and pasted by someone, 99% accurate since November.

ANZAC should have 2 infantry and one AA gun in India though.

Thanks for the pictures texasranger! :)
oztea, I’m going to use your 1941 and 1942 set ups as well at some point. Variant set ups are very interesting! :)
-
I was excited when I first saw this but there is way too few units. I will try this out, but most likely I will be making some revisions. Too bad. I bet they playtested this as much as they tested 1914. :-(
-
Why is this in house rules? Isn’t it official?
-
I posted it in G40 topic but it got moved here.
I don’t know why. -
I see no official word from Larry. It looks like an Oztea setup and not anything Larry made.

Take a look here

krieghund confirms that it is legit
Yes, it’s legit, but there are some errors in the post that need to be corrected, most notably the turn order.
So it is like alpha 1 of G42

It could be something Greg “asked” to run at his event.
Wrote himself, submitted for approval, and got rubber stamped.Larry himself would probably have made some noise about this if he had any hand in it.
On a related note, an updated and permanant thread (that I’ll update) for my 1941 setup.
