@Midnight_Reaper:
From what I’ve seen, the non-zombie, non-dice or cards components seem to me to be the same as the recent Anniversary reprint (so, P-38s for the US instead of the F4F Wildcats, etc.), except for no Cruisers for the navies. Does that jive with what you’ve seen?

I got my copy on Saturday and I was able to compare sculpts on Sunday. I was right, all of the sculpts in AAZ are the same as what the Big 5 had in the Anniversary Reprint, sans Cruisers. I compared the sculpts in AAZ to both the AA50Reprint and AA '42 Second Ed. Most of those sculpts will be the same: US Sherman tanks, German Bismarck BBs, UK Halifax bombers, Japanese Zero fighters, Russian Gnevny DDs, etc…
But where '42 Second Ed. and AA50R differ, AAZ goes with the AA50R sculpts. Which I thought might be the case when I first started seeing pictures of the pieces for the game. But now, I can confirm that. Below are the places where '42 Second Ed. and AA50R differ:
