    I wouldn’t mind losing one bomber out of a squadron, or if it was the 4th or 5th run for that bomber.  But its always the 1st or 2nd mission for a solo bomber.  It’s not just that it’s an expensive unit, but it means the opponent is spared repairing 5 or 6 points, for a total effect of about 17 points.

    I’m said to hear that Sen. John McCain, war hero, died today.  Living in the Washington, D.C. area, politics is big news, and the networks had special reports on his life.  On a separate note, the military history channel is rerunning a documentary on Pearl Harbor after 75 years.  I know that Japan attacked Pear Harbor, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia almost simultaneously.  Japan attacked the Brits hours after Pearl Harbor, unlike many A&A games, where Brit is attacked first.  So Churchill got Parliament to declare war first, before Roosevelt went to Congress, a day after Pearl Harbor.

    Give me a chance to see if I can win in the Pacific within the next few turns.  As to my not attacking Rus, those 3 terr in Siberia that I could reach without activating the Mongolian rule, would not have made a difference.  Russia leaving me alone, helped me expand, and the U.S. spent almost every $ in the Pacific for about 4 turns or more.  My conquest of India and invasion of Africa also diverted much of Britain’s resources away from you.  Rus I.C.s are closer to the China border than my 1 coastal I.C.  It would take me 2 turns with mobile units to reach my border with Rus.  Rus could be inside China in 1 turn.

    Japan wishes to thank Australia for reducing its home guard ground troops by 1/3.  We also wish to thank ANZ for not reinforcing Celebes.  Apparently, ANZ didn’t want to sacrifice a DD; so it gambled and lost attacking a another isle, rather than reinforce its currently occupied isle. That would have made it unlikely for me to recapture Celebe with just the one tt that could reach.
