Just so you know there was a change to the turn order. You need to use the newer version dated April 2013. In addition to that most people are also moving one German sub from sz107, and placing it in sz103 (sz107 starts w/2 subs). That way the US can’t easily kill them both before Germany’s turn rolls around. BTW moving the sub was a suggestion from Krieghund, but its not official yet as far as I know.
Here is a link to the 2nd edition dated April 2013. Its mostly the change in turn order, but there is some minor set-up and NO clarifications. Again it it suggested that you also move one of the German subs.

im just looking forward to playing this setup…and it can be used on half maps also…
so u could play just europe or pacific 42 with this setup…all rules included…just make sure to add the 30 to the usa economy when just playing pacific 42
RJL518: I think 20 at war bonus should be ample.
The Germans will have no help from Italy in this one, so that is one fewer worry for the Allies. I fear Giving 30 bonus will tilt it too much further in the Allies favour and not make the game much of a competition.

your advice sounds pretty good…so your thinking 20 bonus for the usa when playing europe only and 30 bonus for the usa when playing pacific only becasue the usa gets 30 in pacific 40 2nd vanilla
Thanks for the responses guys. I am currently teaching a new player and may have a few more soon. I think the 1942 set-up could be really good as a first step to teaching Global as it puts players straight into action.

I don’t understand why this hasn’t been stickied. I have a group of budding players wanting to play Global and this would be great rather than throwing them straight into the blender. I don’t care where it needs to go. The G40 forum seems reasonable especially since LH endorsed it, but whatever. Put it in House Rules, or here, or in wherever it needs to be.
IL is getting reinstated, there is a lot to be cleaned up, but I think he’ll get this stickied (maybe in G40). It could get its own topic heading though because it really is its own game using the G40 map. Maybe a sub topic under G40, I don’t know, IL will figure it out. Makes it a bit like the Anniversary Edition (AA50).
I agree that this is a really nice way to introduce new players to the Global game (everyone starts at war). The DOW/political rules for G40 can be confusing, and new players that are given Russia, or USA can loose interest because of the limitations those neutral powers start with that can last 3+ turns.
