i initially thought so but after playing and losing to adam’s axis a number of times, i got to realizing axis isn’t all that disadvantaged. you just have to be a lot more aggressive with axis than in vanilla, and can’t be wasting resources on luxury items early on. more focus is needed.
so now i’m of the opinion that an axis bid isn’t really needed. as more expert players join in, we will get to know.
