      This is aequitas et veritas from Germany.
      In 2007 after i relocated to the United States, i found a Store with Axis and Allies games and got interested in it.
      My first Game was the 1999 Europe edition and we (my cousin and friends) set up a small playgroup.
      I learned to know the game better and bought the next game, Pacific.
      No turning back from this time on.

      When i moved back to Germany with my family i left all my games there.

      I found this site while i was in the U.S…
      The feed back to my questions,the warm welcome, the sometimes funny and sometimes interesting discussions made me stay on this site.

      The Play Boardgame section gave me a very good replacement for my missing copies and the League a very strong replacement for my playgroup.

      After the years i sharpend my skills in playing and met a lot of new Friends.

      If you are new to triple a you are welcome and enjoy this site like i do.

      Is it really worth it, to put all that effort and resources for one single BB in?

      Or is it more like Cpt. Miller states in SPR:
      Yeah, all for one single man.

      The G BB has a Task, that point is clear.
      It depends on you as GPlayer if it fills the task to the fullest!

      Help destroying the RN and protecting the Kriegsmarine to the bitter end to folk and fatherland!!

      If you are planning on saving the BB for the purpose of another Task, then you should Strafe sz111 with BB/1×Ftr/1×TacB/2×SS and 1xBmbr only.
      Retreat after one round of combat.
      Your Pruchase for this case should be:
      1xDD, 1xSS, 1xCV placed in sz112.
      And land your remaing planes accordingly to max out the protection for the Kriegsmarine.

      But!:
      To buy an AB for a single BB in Holland makes no sense and has no gain nor benefits.

      Why?:
      The US will come, sooner or later.
      -you as Gplayer will lose any Navy build race against the US and US/UK combined.

      • you will very likely lose that AB to the US/UK and they will have a way better use for that then G will ever have.
        -you are comming short on eastern front b/c 15ipc’s are missing there.
        15 ipc equal= two Arms plus Inf.
        Or 3 Mech and an Inf.
        Or a Bmbr plus Inf.
        It’ll cost you flexabilty and power of your punch on Moscow.
        The AB can be bmbd by US and your Fleet be taken out via UK by a 1-2 punch.
        An AB also means that at up to three Ftrs will be missing on E-front, five planes if you have a CV loaded.

      You may playtest an AB buy in your group and may have some success, but in all actuallty it will not become a solid strategy.

      Just some food for thoughts.

      I totally understand your point @dawgoneit and I think it will be considered since a lot of people here do still play OoB here. Maybe just not more frequently than the BM in League games these days.

      Arround 140 PBF games and 8-10 online games so far, since 2016.

      Used to play F2F games in the States. Back then we played the '99 Europe Version and the 2001Pacific one though.
      What a blast.

      Now i only play BM and loving it.

      @oysteilo I agree with you and would welcome your solutions.
      This brings huge credit to, since you seem like a person who aknoledge issues/ problems and also files on solutions and present them.
      Very good!

      I would add that it could also easily maintained with specific league badges wich are showing that you either a prefferable Oob or BM or PtV Player or have a multibadge wich reflects that you are good to play all or certain two versions of G40.
      We discussed a badge solution for League members a while ago, when this site became a New facelifting.
      Maybe it is this time to get more serious about that.

      I suffered this season to play a version where i am less comfortable with. And would be open to the ideas of three different brackets.

      And i would also mention, that i was beat fair and square and accepted it without a mourning!

      @Amon-Sul my experiance was, that I personally couldn’t follow up my line bc i was getting tempted to rely more on the techs than on my abilty to perform my strategy.

      @oysteilo is a very competent player and it made lots of fun.

      I would implement tech in a certain way that differs from the most opinions that people have arround here.

      They are:

      All nations get three techs they can develop and are equal.
      AA Radar
      Airborne forces
      Increased Factory Production

      Plus they get 3 additional
      Nation related Techs and would be:

      GERMANY:
      Super Subs
      Jetzt Power
      Improved Mechs

      RUSSIA:
      Tank production (Tanks cost 5 instead of 6)
      Improved Arty Support 1 (pairing mechsnism)
      Improved Arty Support 2 (( purchase mechanism buy four Inf get an additional Arty) reflecting that almist every soviet Infantry men in '42 had a mortar along with them)

      JAPAN:
      Shipyards
      Improved Mech
      Heavy Bomber

      US:
      Warbonds
      Shipyards
      Longrange Aircraft

      UK:
      Shipyards
      Longrange Aircraft
      Heavy Bmbrs

      As a total of six techs you may develop dringend the whole game.
      More specified Techs would even be better for the nation only related techs.

      As an Axis Player i would welcome your idea of Russia building an mIC in Caucasuss, it makes the NO even more tempting.

      Like Colt allready explained, please provide a few games as evidence that this will work and prove us wrong.

      I highly recommend to reconsider your thoughts on the mIC.
