    Jen you can see the lines. you just have to check the option to draw it when you zoom out.

    View->Draw borders on top -> high.

    The global box does not come with a political chart. Unless you physically drew one with pen and paper, don’t cry about it.

  • @Cow:

    You got nothing to point at, so suck it.

    I wouldn’t want to play with either one of you guys.

    Direct and to the point.

    @Cmdr:

    Forum rules state that if something is not corrected within one game turn, then it stays as is

    Never heard of this before. Plus, he’s playing FTF, not by forum.

    2 things come to mind.

    First, after turn 4 everybody should be at war with everybody. Claiming an undeclared DOW is kind of a reach.

    Second, and the rules are explicit on this, once you collect your income, it is immediately your opponents turn. After that, any changes made to the board (including missed combats, non-combat changes, hanging aircraft, etc) are at your opponents discretion. And, in this case, he has even more rules to back him up. Since no dice were rolled for attacking units and it is possible for a sub to enter a sea zone during a combat move and then submerge before combat he is perfectly within his right to make that assumption if the TP is still on the board at the beginning of his turn.

    This is less of a rules issue and more of an etiquette issue.

    You were being a rules dick about the DOW and he was being a rules dick about the TP. Sounds like you’re both even.

  • @Cmdr:

    @Mallery29:

    I’m still up for solving this by kicks to the balls….it will solve EVERYTHING.

    Works for me.  ^_^

    You see, this is why i always stay on the other side of the table then my opponents ;)

    @majikforce: a way to deal with what your friend did is to make a checklist of every step in each round (play as well as battle), and reading it out loud, every single step.

  • TripleA

    that is too patronizing.

    Any final thoughts?  The game continues today at lunch time, and I wore my steel tipped boots today if ball kicks are in order.

    I agree it is probably more of an etiquette issue, but I almost positive that if I hadn’t outwitted him with the France DOW and the sub/transport issue still occurred he would of gladly allowed the sub to kill the transport.  It just irks me that he is being stubborn about the transport when he knows I was clearly attacking it.  Regarding the France DOW I shouldn’t be punished for putting him in a situation that forces him to think beyond what “usually happens” and saying everybody SHOULD be at war by turn 4 is not the same as actually being at war.  Part of my Japanese strategy rests on stalling the US as long as possible so I never attacked the UK or ANZAC, hence no DOW.  Like it or not the political situation is part of the game and can be incorporated into a strategy.  You make a good point about the sub being able to submerge I didn’t think of that( i know he didn’t)  but I did verbally state these are my attacks.  Thanks for the input!  I am probably just gonna wear a cup to work anyway.

  • Question: Why wouldn’t you invade FIC as Japan by round 4?
    I also agree that by round 4 it should be a foregone conclusion that everyone is at war. Transport is dead. Next time remember to clear dead units from board at the end of your turn. Japan-France go to war.

  • Ty jennifer! But can a lonely sub kill a lonely trans ? No other units is in that seazone!

    A submarine may ATTACK a transport or transports and automatically win.

  • Thought they fixed that in Global, so subs can attack unescortet transport anymore?!?! Zzzz Hate all these rules cant figure em out!

    Subs only “attack” on the sub owners turn.  Subs are “defending” on the transport owners turn.  A sub can “attack” a lone transport as a combat move.  It cannot take sneak attack shots against unescorted transports any longer (that’s the rule that was fixed).  It CAN stop an amphibious assault from occurring if the transport is alone.  But again, that’s defending, NOT attacking.

  • KCdzim: What about Majikforce’s Transport problem? Do he and his friend have to resolve it or is there an official ruling on killed units being removed later if they were killed and not removed at the time?
    Think we would all like to know. Thank you.

  • Official rules don’t really address human error, and this sort of thing must be dealt with diplomatically based on your group unless you have some sort of tourney rules that address eff-ups.

    If it were my house, the transport is VERY dead.  It was a combat move which results in combat.  it was a defenseless transport.  There is no rolling required.  The fact that it was left on the board is moot (to me).  It’s dead.  It was meant to be dead.  The game isn’t technically supposed to advance to noncombat until all combats have been rolled.  It’s dead.  No way I’d let that float - it was a combat move specifically against it and EVERYONE knew what was going on there.  The UK can’t just sit there and twiddle their thumbs hoping Germany forgets to resolve.  But that’s why you should always use the combat board.

    As for the French/Japan diplomatic status…  That’s also part of the game.  If Japan hasn’t declared war on France, hasn’t invaded FIC, hasn’t smashed the french units in any way…  Well, it’s on France to think as to why that may be.  That said, if France was a new player who hadn’t ever dealt with AA1940 diplomatic rules, well, then let France say, “ok, wait, it’s turn 4.  Had I known that, I would have had France declare war last turn”.  And then let japan revise their combat move if they want.

  • I think that is reasonable. Thanks again.

    thanks everyone for all the input.  KCdzim  i totally agree with what you said, and my opponent was definitely not a noob!  As for the final result the transport died we agreed to not get too saucy when we play and i kicked him in the balls till he bled like a stuck pig!
