That’s an interesting concept. Never thought about messing with the turn order. Italy going first really screws up a taranto raid and allows them to control what goes on in the med. Be awesome to see France have a turn, although it just prolongs the inevitable. More fun and different though. And yes more of the royal navy would probably survive. May have to give that a go. Or what about if Germany waited a few years to start the war until the Italians were more ready for war. Like a 1943 version with a larger Italian navy and air force. Believe that’s what Mussolini was trying to convince Hitler to do.

IMO a UK1 Taranto is a must like the G1 fall of France is a must for Germany. Why would UK allow that Italian navy to live? 2 or 3 transports for Italy on turn 1 spells a fall of Cairo by R3 latest. The middle east will fall shortly afterwards. I’ve seen Italy grow into a major power because that navy was left to live.

Point well taken Barney. It does suck when they get shot down no doubt. Found you can really strangle Japan with SBR’s especially after taking DEI away from them. Tougher with Germany.

Most informative video. Thanks for all your hard work YG. I originally thought the US would be the most fun nation to play. Found that it is most challenging  thus the most difficult nation to play IMO. All that money, all the options but one mistake could be fatal for the allies.  Very difficult to figure what exactly to do with the US. I believe that they must be responsible for SBR’S on both japan and Germany along with having the fleet to convoy japan. After that is where I have problems. Maybe I’m spending too much on bombers, not enough on troops and transports.

Was wondering if it would be worth keeping Italian R1 money and purchasing a battleship R2 to replace the one lost in R1? Although my thoughts are that the Italians are more in need of fighters and land units. Thoughts?

I also agree that by round 4 it should be a foregone conclusion that everyone is at war. Transport is dead. Next time remember to clear dead units from board at the end of your turn. Japan-France go to war.

Can US move ground or air units onto Anzac or UK-India territories when NOT at war?

tanks, tanks, tanks thats the way to go. 4 tanks-1 fighter turn 1.  5 tanks-1 fighter turn 2, if possible- should be. Then as many tanks as possible. If 1 battle goes bad for germany, russia can counter. Like the idea of moving south to take middle east ipc. Going to try the abandoning novogorod idea next game- something different. Can defend southern rich territories.

Got europe 1940 last december played 15-20 games. Loved it so much I had to go global. Played 9 or 10 global games and its amazing. Never played pacific by itself. Its well worth it. I do notice the thinner markers but so what they serve the purpose. Game is awesome- global is amazing!
