Tech Units Not Changing in Global 40

@Panther thank you Panther. Was already thinking I need to redo move, and have also gotten similar advice from Simon. I very much appreciate this board and the folks here.

@Grintch All the related graphics are inside the “assets” folder of your TripleA installation.
Additionally there are or may be graphics inside the map.zip-files of the map you are interested in.
In case there aren’t any graphics in the map.zip-files, those in the assets folder of TripleA are used.

So you usually would change the unit-design in the map folder or add your own units there.
Those files are png-files, so you can customize them with any image manipulation software.

Sometimes the solution is that easy…  :roll:

In TripleA just use EDIT-Mode to assign the technologies you want to the nations you want.
You can do that for all nations when it comes to Germany’s very first “Buy Tech tokens”-Phase,
and of course at any time later.

I do not know why I did not realize that before…

I have Pacific 1940 2nd ed. game that I bought in May '13 or thereabouts. Convoy rules are on pp. 22-23. They read like the Europe/L.Harris rules that Gargantua has cited: units roll dice, 2 for a/c and subs, and 1 for others. Rolls of “3” or less are tallied, etc. Exactly like my Europe '40 2nd ed. rulebook in game I purchased the same day.

The Pac. '40 2nd ed. rulebook in A&A.org / Resources section is like the one that came with my game.

I did look at Avalon Hill site for Pac. '40 2nd ed. rulebook and it reads the way that Gargantua is citing for Pacific rules, units do an amount of convoy ipc damage without rolling dice. Looked again at cover of that book, however, and it does not indicate “2nd Edition”. Seems like a bad link at AH site. Rulebook link on Pacific '40 2nd ed. page opens 1st ed. book?

Also confirmed that my Pacific rulebook on pg. 10 says that China is not subject to convoy disruption, as P@nther previously noted.

triplea does not yet support global 1940

every week we get closer, but you can’t imagine the number of things that need to be coded, so it is probably going to be at least another month

Ok, I am going to give you guys some motivation to motivate ComradeKev to code the rules for Global, Europe, and Pacific 1940 into the TripleA engine.

Here is how it will work:
