That was an ordeal. I should always check that I’m online before combat. Online result took 2 hits instead of 1 on Sumatra. But that’s the way it goes, not that bad. Had to retake DEI this turn for the cash and since you have no transports left to take them back on your turn. Previously, I was able to make Yun too strong for India to take and China wasn’t adjacent yet. So Chinese army could be destroyed if it tried for Yun. But I didn’t want to put all my troops from Japan into northern China without a NB. Feels like Napoleon forced marching across Europe to individually defeat his enemies. With 4 opponents in all directions, Japan has to race around, trying to keep you at bay and making hard choices. Japan can’t protect every part of the empire all at once.

Tough choice, if I take the last DD, then your surviving subs have first strike on round 2. But your subs can absorb my fighter hits if I keep the DD, but not if I sink my last DD. So I hope you only give 5 hits or less.

Since I knew that I couldn’t defend the Italian fleet or outrun the Allied fleet, I should have taken Malta on Italy’s turn.
