    Am I right in thinking that that battle in Volgograd might have turned this game. I haven’t calculated what your odds are in Berlin but my odds must be much better than Egypt.

    It probably won’t be decisive but I also screwed up that turn. Should have built a transport and artillery in Spain. And I attacked Rio de Oro thinking I could land the UK bombers from S Africa there (forgot that the Sahara still blocks them. Anyway, I think it is too late to change those moves but it will be very annoying if I end up being 4 units short in an attack on Berlin.

    couldn’t seem to post the regular way. I got a 301 error. I’m using a different computer (laptop instead of desktop) and I don’t think I’ve updated triplea here yet. So that might be the issue. The moves were only the sub (to 104) and the edits to your sub and my bomber if you want to stick with a posted file rather than a save.

    I’m much less giddy about the allied chances after your turn (although they have certainly improved since before.) I am now kicking myself for not thinking through the build and placement properly on the last turn. 4 units and 8 power could make a huge difference.

    And it might not be until later today that I can do the US/UK turn.

  • @farmboy ok no rush as far as when you can get to it.

    yah it’s still not totally clear to me how the allies will be saved, given all the combined power that’s concentrating into Europe (outside of insane luck maybe?). it is an admirable attempt tho. certainly making it an exciting ending, and I could be wrong!

    I think the IJN and airforce arriving on the scene is probably going to make the big difference here.


  • @axis-dominion yeah. I think my hope now is that a US/UK one two punch is enough to take Berlin but that the US does well enough that the UK forces can be used elsewhere too. I had though the US odds alone would be a bit higher in Berlin and that they might be enough to have a long shot at winning it on their own. But that is now a really long shot. I think I have a decent chance of taking Berlin with the UK but it will likely mean all their forces which means I just get one extra turn. And that won’t be enough since you can take it back. We will see.

    I forgot to mention that the UK air were on the US carrier in 104. I thought you may have assumed that they were, but unless I hear otherwise, I will treat them as if they were on the UK carrier since I should have mentioned that.
