What @barnee says. You need to edit the respective part of the xml file to be found in the “game”-directoy of the map installation.
My friend can’t get past select map because he doesn’t have oztea map?

Hasn’t he downloaded them?
He needs to hit “Download Maps” and then choose from the “Experimental” category.

@panther he downloaded all he wanted but in trying to open g40, the software seems to be forcing him to download a file and when he does not choose it boots him back to the main menu.

Now what does he want to open? One of the Oztea setups (only 1941 is included in the G40 map file) or the g40 setup or exactly what?
What does he choose from “Select Maps” and what is the exact message he receives when trying to access the game?
Also does he try to create a new game or does he load a savegame-file?
Maybe post screenshots of what he is doing step by step.
Or ask him to give all the details here himself - that maybe would be easier for you (and me).
