    Reviewing NCM, hold on pls.

  • 19 18 17 16 15

Only 1 item. We prefer not placing the carrier in 6. What is the rule? we save the money or the carrier for next turn? Please edit accordingly and carry on Karl.

    Thx

If you bought something and then conduct combat, then the purchase is “locked.”  You can’t rebuy after you fight. Otherwise, people could change their buy based on the outcome of the rolls, i.e. this battle went well so I don’t need X– is not allowed.

    Make sense?

  • Liaison TripleA 11 10

Fair question to ask Juan - and rulebook is clear.  You do have to place everything you buy.

I have seen it many a time where people buy a complex or transports and then lose an important battle that puts those items at risk…  Part of Axis and Allies is having to purchase before you roll dice!

    Exciting game!

I too wonder where the Moscow stack will go!! :)

Nothing is certain in this game!

Karl has sent me his planned move but I am 12 hours away from being able to view it.  Thank you for patience.

  • 19 18 17 16 15

Ok, I thought it was an option but it is only when you cannot place all. If you can, you should. In this case it is not related to dice, just a bad planning.

Ok, what we will do is launch a LL reroll in 16. If we save the fighter it will make things a little easier for us. I will just roll your defense and then we will review NCM.

    Scram etc.

  • Ok Sir,

Scramble all and 6 kamis over the Battleship, and if you achieve making Filipinas we will use a Low Luck reroll token for that Battle.

OOL four hits in the first round (4 carriers), four hits on the second round (4 carriers), and then CR, CR, Cruiser, TB, TB, TB, Dd.

    Very close Gentlemen, good luck.

  • Liaison TripleA 11 10

hmm…  I did not consider the -forced- LL situation. or the LL use of kamikazes.

Very dirty trick! Calling for LL before hand hahaha!

  • Liaison TripleA 11 10

Yeah, I can say I REALLY don’t like the use of rerolls as a forced “game mechanic” being used as an integrated part of the strategy.

Rerolls in the face of a bad or lopsided battle for fun is one thing, but this is something we did not consider.

Leads me to wonder that because Kamikazes are rolled seperately, that they would be a seperate reroll.

Don’t know what your thoughts are Karl.

  • Liaison TripleA 11 10

    I looked at the rulebook.

    http://www.axisandallies.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Axis-Allies-Pacific-1940-Second-Edition.pdf
    Page 16

“Kamikaze strikes are resolved before any combat begins”

It is viewed as a seperate entity.  Like if you strategically bombed a territory you were also attacking. and is listed in the same phase as Strategic Bombing.

Let’s see what the dice bring, the point may be moot, but i do believe the kamikes and the  battle are two seperated events.

  • Ok Sir,

I said about reroll in the previous post and I didn’t, we have to see what happens first.

Full scramble and six kami over the Battleship. Max defense keeping the Dd till the end.

    Cheers

  • This is just a game and we wanted to have fun playing it.

  • 22 20 19 18 17 16 15 14 12

Well, by my count we have pretty high odds on winning, so not sure why you’d want to use a re-roll on that battle. In fact, I was worrying we’d have to use one!

But given this is an important battle, I am sure if you use a reroll and it stops the taking of phi, then we’d counter with another reroll.

I think Garg is right on the Kamikaze being a separate battle. Honestly, I’ve never used a re-roll in a multi-part combat, it’s an issue that never came up.  :-P
