I now think a similar idea could apply to Finland.
Its 4 infantry can only move in the following territories:
Finland
Vyborg
Karelia
Norway
Sweden (not if the Axis are at war with the strict neutrals)

I’m completely against removing countries. If anything we should be adding more. Or keeping it the same. Removing countries would be like version 0.5. I think the time the game starts is weird to. Meaning starting right after the Dunkirk evacuation is just weird. Not bad just I wish it was a better timeframe. That’s my opinion at least. I don’t agree with stacking limits just because I don’t like them. I would love to see a 1939 starting date. Also this is one thing that bugs me, why have so many French pieces if we are not using them. I would rather have actual French sculpts then a ton of blue Russians.

@The-Captain I would be shocked if this is the case, Renegade seems to be interested in A&A, they have reprinted many games and have two new full games. Plus Operation Market Garden soon.

@The-Captain I have always assumed that we–axisandallies.org–had Renegade lurkers. That’s how I came up with the idea for the thread. Here’s to hoping they have seen it or will, when it comes time for a 4th edition (assuming tournament 42 is 3rd edition) consult this thread.

…we certainly do have Renegade lurkers, or at least people who lived here long before they began working with Renegade on A&A development projects (I’m not talking about myself).

new map cartography, oil centers, real neutral armies/navies ( not just infantry,) D12, NO National Objectives, Real Tech Chart, start 1939, not 1940, USSR then All axis and rest of allies move sequence, remove NCM, add Rail Movement, Atomic Weapons, etc

I think France is such a non-entity in the game, that even the 1940 start is too early. I think the only way something like that works is if you have a game that ends around the time the USSR would be invaded… which might work for a Europe game, but not a Global game.
People forget that Xeno Games’ World At War (in a lot of ways) was the answer to the question of “What if we did A&A but in 1939 and with France as a major power?” I think G40 actually took a lot of the lessons from that, while still throwing a bone to France, despite itself.

Having played a bit vs. @Aardwolf44 the problem with the game is that the Germans have enough air force to take out the entire British navy and swing into Africa to make the Italian defense impenetrable… and absolute dumpster the USSR; VCs fall way too quick for the allies to be able to do anything -
@The-Janus In 1940 France is a road apple, while Germany Destroys the British Navy on G1, Perhaps it might prove better for Germany to commit all her might against Poland and France and have to tangle with UK fleet for the rest of the war and actually invest in a proper navy rather than this thing where UK navy gone and France, Norway, Poland are nothing but Boogers so they dont need to be represented?? 1940 was never the start of the war. If anything start in 1939 or June 1941 or Dec 1941. All these games follow the same mantra: wipe out UK Navy, then hold off UK while fighting USSR. Is nothing more possible?

@crockett36 blocked the battleship! added to the defense of the channel significantly. One can easily scramble. Stiffened 111. Took out 96. And killed a German plane.

You could send a fighter to Scotland for a two plane scramble
