i am away for the weekend, so maybe sunday night
13L G40 JWW axis v Wheatbeer (+10) allies

Tilting my carrier and losing 2 fighters would also have been a better OOL than sinking the cruiser and both fighters.
really? So tilt the cv in rd 1 or rd 2?
sorry just tell me what you want me to do.
-
tilt cv and lose 2 fighters for my round 2 casualties
At the end of round two the Allies have a tilted carrier and a cruiser left.
-
so I will put the cr back and the trn’s for you……and I would then still lose two units in the last phase of combat and therefore, retreating, I would lose both fgt’s and save the cv…
you will get your “pot shot” at the german planes…
I was wondering if you agreed with my loses, when I asked, not yours. I wouldn’t have thought that you would want the allied OOL to go that way but I can see why that makes sense playing LL.

GOT it, sorry I made this so complicated….
-
so basically you would have a CR to roll for in the last round since we already rolled for the cv and missed……so if we proceed with the last round attack you are owed a 1-3 defensive dice…correct?

no, I fcuked this up to….you have a 5 to hit one unit…which is what you rolled so therefore I need to lose a unit and sink the fleet or leave the tilted cv & cr and trn’s in the sea zone…
I consider myself an intelligent person but this has me a bit confused. i think I have it right now…
ask for OOL, always
-
Ok, I am just going to lose the other ITA fgt and put an end to this. the allied navy is gone and the ita navy lost 2fgt’s, cv, dd & tiled a BB.
use this file.
thanks for the lesson and very gracious offer of the LL option. I owe you one too……oh no…
-
You can reroll the last die since it’s not fair for me to have seen it ahead of time. Not a good chance to avoid the hit, but you might.
I admit I’m more picky about OOL than most players here.
-
Also, might be a silly moment to mention  , but in low luck, submarines are rolled separately. Both because they can get surprise attacks (Italy might have) and because it will affect what units are allowable casualties.
I didn’t even think about that until now … it actually makes low luck potentially more erratic in small-to-medium sized naval battles like this.
-
We don’t need to redo the whole thing unless you want to, just for future reference.
-
And it’s totally my fault for not thinking of that since you haven’t rolled low luck before

oh brother……so ss’s don’t work towards the total in LL, you need to roll them i.e. they have to roll a 1-2 since there are two of them and then subtract the two from the 1st allied total? My head is spinning…this doesn’t make sense to me but that is ok…we can carry on with the file I sent. I don’t need to re-roll…you are just trying to make this painful now aren’t you?
-
Since both sides began with destroyers I doubt the sub thing would have made much difference.
In a battle with a lot of subs or where one side lacks a destroyer, it could make a big difference though.

Also don’t be too paranoid about owing me a low luck reroll. I probably won’t even use it in this match since I don’t think the Allies are looking that good long run.
I have a nasty habit of Paris surviving G1, so I’m more likely to use if for something like that.
-
The more I look at the map, I think even if my Rome plan had gone flawlessly, it would probably just add 5-10 turns to the game without altering the outcome.

then, you know much more about this game than I do.
-
if that is the case the allied bid should be much greater
