@simon33 nvm. I see the actual game now.

And you saved 2, so you have 45 on hand, which will be up to date on my map
-
My understanding is that Mongolia comes under USSR control at end of Japan’s turn. So I usually just let it rest and leave it for the USSR player, but you can go ahead and change if you want.
The extra artillery makes no difference to me.
-
The Soviet Union must “lend” some its territory to the growing Japanese Empire. It’s only fair.
-
Don’t get me wrong - I knew it was coming and it is the play to make
Amu surprised me though, but again, this is my first Alpha3 so what do I know -
OK, looked up the rules again.
Mongolia turns Soviet at the end of the Japanese combat move phase
Since you didn’t say anything about Mongolia and didn’t do anything about it on your map, I wondered if you forgot about it or if I was misunderstanding.Thank you for both clarifications - game on
I’m sorry about the bid missing from my Russia map - I must not have put the bid units on when starting up the game with that map or didn’t get it saved or something. Thanks for your understanding.
-
My first impression is the new Mongolia rules give Japan a lot more options, because they don’t have to go around it any more since it loses its status as true neutral…
Not sure that was Larry’s intent
Also, Alpha3 rules do not make it clear whether Japan can paste Mongolia at the same time as attacking Russia without the true neutral penalty. I looked it up the other day and already forget what I found. Apparently you can’t, or you would have attacked Buy, right?

WHOA
I got confused. My map was right.
It’s my OTHER game I’m playing with Jim010 where I had a bid of 5 and had artillery and an IPC to the UK.We are playing straight up. Whoops! I’ll delete them. No wonder my map didn’t reflect them.
-
My understanding is if I attacked mongolia the same turn I attacked amu then I would have declared war on all the neutrals. Obviously not a good move. Mongolia only goes pro-ally, i.e. Soviet, after I am done attacking.
Ok, makes sense on the non-china art. I didn’t recall if we bid, but it would not have affected my move. I must Kill all, burn all, loot all in China.
-
You said pro-Ally, but you do know I now have 6 more Russian infantry in Mongolia and all of Mongolia is controlled by Russia without having to activate the territories or infantry, correct?
-
OK, first global game in many months and first Alpha3, so the big US1 and UK1 will take some time to decide. Hopefully tomorrow or in the next couple of days - then I’ll be rolling once I decide on my strategies. :-)
-
Yes, Mongolia is USSR now. Take your time. No problem. :-D
-
Made my first Alpha3 US, UK and China moves vs. Jim010 and it took me hours (been a long time since I played Global 1940 too)
You’re next - hopefully tomorrow if I can find the time on Dad’s day
Shouldn’t take me as long to do it now that I’m oriented a bit. It was fun, too! -
Sounds good
