yes I believe keeping a dd might be better, since it can be used to mop up surviving subs in 110, and the damaged bb is as good as gone anyway, and if there are surviving subs, the bb can be sunk for free.

I’m curious how you would have played against your own move here. Especially with the UK. I thought that I could perhaps risk 97 since there was a good chance that the transport buy was a feint and that if you went for it, it could open up the board to Russia. But didn’t want to risk it.
No need to respond if you don’t want to give anything away but I am curious. I think I struggle more with early game choices than I did when I started playing.
