Its frustrating that a single UK bomber with defensive fighters doubling as escorts, can force Germany to place large numbers of intercepting fighters in each formerly Russian I.C. within range. Volgo, on the front line, is not producing anything. If I shifted fighters from Western Europe, it would reduce my threat to the Allied fleet. This became more significant after I lost so many bombers in the prior turn’s attack on your fleet. Building new fighters for the East would take several turns and is inefficient offensively. Tanks have the same offense as fighters and are cheaper. Artillery also have the same offensive effect when paired with infantry, and are even cheaper. The average die roll for a strat bomber against a minor I.C. is 5, with the bonus and max damage limit. That’s 25 points for the 5 of 6 missions that would survive, which is double the cost of bombers shot down. The alternative is to build tanks in Germany, which take 3 turns to reach the enemy.

I reposted Italy because you used the first Japanese save game that didn’t include my edit for NCM bomber that was in my second J29 save game.
