Release month is September

Yeah, but it will come quick. And this is tremendously worth both the relatively short wait and the money.
Last year the NES classic got scooped up quick because of the extreme demand and tragically low supply. Nintendo said that for the Super Nintendo, they will be producing “significantly more than the NES Classic”, but that they would not be making them anymore after December 31 of this year. So, get it while you can. Or it will be $300 - $500 on Amazon again.

As a long-time computer gamer, I bought my SNES when it was current just to get my hands on Super Street Fighter II. If that title were on this redo, I’d probably do it again.

Until several years later, they do a reprint - just to ruin the overpriced E-Bay sellers… who would do such a terrible thing to a “limited edition” game?
-
I still have my old SNES in a box somewhere.
What’s the advantage of buying this over exhuming the original?

Smaller, modern video/audio outputs, no danger of the game cartridges being damaged to becoming unplayable.
Other than that, probably not much. If you have the real thing with the games you want, there isn’t really reason to get this.

O M G I cannot wait for this premiere! I will buy it immidiately.

It is sad to hear stories of Atari and NES cartridges deteriorating, I wonder how my good friend’s SNES games are doing after he dug them out of storage. That said I’ll try to get this as long as Nintendo distributes these properly.

I saw a “kids react” video to an old NES system… they were confused about cartridges and why they didn’t work when you put them in the system and turned it on… the host explained it helps if you “blow into the cartridge to get rid of the dust”… the kids were confused, but sure enough, blowing into the cartridge made it work.
There is probably something important to learn from this… but I don’t know what it is…

Digital technology that is far too analog for their young minds.

To be fair, you don’t have to blow-into a PS4 to play a game.
-
and blowing in the cartridges did cover the contacts in abundant blasts of saliva…
I’m fairly sure the reason this trick worked was not because it was a cheap homebrewed version of canned air, but rather because the ritual forced you to re-seat the worn cartridge and contacts over and over until you got a solid connection from a totally worn out device. There was nothing clean about it.

Breathalyzer check before game systems may be operated. The next safety innovation.

If that was your practice “abundant blasts of saliva”, I’m pretty sure you were doing it wrong.

Super Tecmo Bowl was awesome. Dallas Cowboys were great on the SNES game.

Are you implying that they aren’t great anywhere else? :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

I will forever hate it because of those relentless Kia commercials from last season. God, it was on every commercial break…

Those 92-95 Cowboys teams were great.
