Global 1940 Wittman and Private Panic vs Credulous and Elrood

When are you two getting married?
-
If bickering is your image of a marriage… then
. -
I think the EU needs to change. It is overly interfering, insufficiently democratic and has a terrible non-record in nurturing a vibrant job creating European economy.
That said, Britain’s future is not as an inward looking, isolationist nation on the margins of Europe. So, although I think we should stay in the EU, I just wish the prospect of reform was much greater.
What’s your view of the EU Seb?

I’d largely agree with that. I’d also like greater control over our own borders, as I don’t believe 300k of net migration a year is great for living standards, even if it is great for ‘economic growth’ which is of course necessary to maintain our debt to GDP ratio at sensible levels whilst our deficit is still quite large……
I can see you’ve now taken France. Is this the point where I’m supposed to resign or do we keep playing? (genuine question :-)).

If I could vote, I would vote Out.
But I am a filthy Wop and get no say. I thjnk England is belong ruined by the massive numbers of immigrants from undeserving countries. I do norlike the England that it is becoming. Not sure on the surrender, Cred.

I am still waiting for him to ask me ….
-
Hehe.
Well… the way I see it is:
- we have lot of global issues and countries to solve them separatelly - thats just wrong
- europe florished decades on the suffereing of 3rd world - e.g ask BP or Shell where they get that cheap oil from for our fancy cars - thats sick
- so many people in many eu countries are following now simple propaganda by nationalists - thats what happened formerly a 100 years ago - not good
This migration wave we face now is a challenge, sure… , but one which would be much easier to deal with in a unified EU.

Particularly agree with both those points.
Re the latter one, in the UK we have a habit of blaming the EU for our immigration numbers, but actually more come from outside the EU - the causes of which we will find harder to manage or influence on our own.

Cred
So what’s the decision guys? Are you going to rob the UK of the pleasure of recapturing Egypt or not?
If unconditional surrender, then I am certainly up for another game. I enjoy the banter with an ally. No doubt Seb thanks God that he had me to rescue him in this game! :-D
-
I leave the ultimate decision to my reticent ally. Unlike the homos on the other side, we feel no need to converse like spurned lovers. There is still game enough left and it might be fun for Cred to see his empire shrink. I like a losing battle, as you know.
-

No wonder it is such a regular feature of your game! :-P
Communication is the key to any relationship. You should try it!
-
Ok I’ll keep playing to give you boys some satisfaction.

If I could vote, I would vote Out.
But I am a filthy and get no say.So are you not on the UK electoral roll? Does that also mean that you don’t have British citizenship?
-
No. I only have an Italian passport. I refuse to bow down and kiss your Queen’s arse, being the Fascist revolutionary. I am not standing in a room with a bunch of Eastern Europeans and singing your national anthem and filling in a form, in my pigeon English.
-
That explains a lot Leo.
I have now decided that we certainly should leave the EU forthwith and banish all foreigners from our shores. You are part of the problem! Well - of so many problems actually …. :-P

Is that seriously what it takes?

I asked about 5 years ago, as I wanted to vote at a general election and I was told that, despite having an English mother, having lived here since 1969 and marrying a bloody Englishwoman. I was appalled.

An Englishman once told me “your your father is English then you are English”. Is that correct, or does that rule still apply?
-
…“if your father…” I meant
-
No idea.
