  • Incredible - with these Russian dice results I would have had best chances to win the Caucasus-battle, which I of course did not fight due to bad chances…

    Well that is some nice rolls to waste! Lots of 1’s! Gotta hate when you get the lucky rolls when you don’t need them.

    But yeah we can call this one as I agree its pretty much over. Probably would be officially won within a round or 2 anyways.

    Yes, that’s what I meant. We could continue maybe with 1942 2nd edition, just to get to the current ruleset.
    But I am open to other suggestions…

    Fine.

    We move on to the ruleset that was developped for Global 1940 2nd Edition - and (as a simplification) 1942 2nd edition.

    Major changes are:

    • AA Guns now shoot at a maximum of 3 planes each. So you must have more than one AA gun in a territory in order to be able to shoot at more than three attacking planes. You need for example 2 AA guns to shoot at a maximum of 6 enemy planes.
    • AA Guns are no longer subject to capture but can be taken as casualties. They will be autodestroyed if attacked and no other defending unit is available. They still can be moved only in NCM. They no longer defend against SBR, because
    • Factories have a “built-in” AA shooting at every SBR-ing bomber.
    • Unit prices are slightly different (see TripleA) - Tanks cost 6.
    • A transport is not allowed to offload land units for an amphibious assault in a sea zone containing one or more ignored enemy submarines unless at least one warship belonging to the attacking power is also present in the sea zone at the end of the Combat Move phase.

    This is what came quickly to my mind. I will point out possible other aspects when I recall them.

    So the struggles are real…

    I started the new game and forgot to make it a forum game but rolled all the dice. So then I restarted and edited the original result into a new forum game which is why you see duplicate dice rolls. The difference between the two rolls in pretty incredible :)

    Anyways, pretty much a disastrous Russia turn 1. The attack in Ukraine had an expected ~12 TUV swing and ended with -22! This is probably gonna be a short one!


  • Ouch… bad luck indeed.

    Let’s see how this turns out - my battles are always good for similar dice experiences  :wink:

    When studying the map I wondered where that German fighter ended.
    Now I know… TripleA did not realize that - after the edits -  it was a surviving defending fighter, but - due to the territory owner change in the edit - assumed that it landed in a territory that was not friendly at the beginning of the turn, so destroyed it.

    However, I came back from work just minutes ago (10.30 pm here) and feel too tired to elaborate a G1 move right now.
    Will do it definitely tomorrow. I hope to come back to a quicker pace then.  :-)

    Oh lol. I didn’t even notice that. I just opened the save and realized that it did remove the fighter after I added it just like the summary mentions. Makes sense just never thought about it.
