The terrible intercepting rules strike again! Apparently bombers are more suited to shooting down flying aircraft than fighters are! :x

It annoys the hell out of me. Used to be two on defence until 1940 came out. This would go a long way to preventing a total income collapse for Russia in many games. As I said, I am starting to hate playing 1940, with its too many flaws.
