    I don’t see any dice emails from MARTI, and there was no battle that popped up from the savegame file (sorry, I’m new to play-by-forum), so I’m assuming you want me to go ahead with the first round of combat and pick my losses?

    Friendly reminder: You did not move your submarine in SZ 90 off of Persia. Were you wanting to fight the destroyer? (Because if not, you actually move it away on the combat movement phase).

    Let me know on both counts, and we’ll get this party started!

    Oh, I see, you want me to pick my preferred order of losses?

    Unfortunately, in a naval battle such as this, I’m going to have to see what you also take as casualties round by round, to know what to take on my end. For instance, whether and when I take carrier/plane losses depends greatly on whether I’m doing well or getting my ass kicked.

    If the game does not support posting/loading saves in the middle of combat, with the combat info also going across, I can keep the game loaded and running on my home machine pretty much indefinitely. We could run the big battle on my side if that is easier for you.

    Just let me know.

    Yes - it does seem to work - if you press battle in sz 6 the dice roll box comes up and shows exactly the dice rolls I e-mailed to you.

    So load it up, select your casualties and hand it back.

    Cool! That seems to have worked. Good to know.

    The problem, however, is now that we’re in the middle of this huge naval clash, I’m going to bed. I have a job interview tomorrow at a new company (a job I’d rather do, closer to my house than my current one, perhaps (only slightly) better pay) after work, but I’m going to be awake and/or have nightmares all night long about this stupid game.

    One time my girlfriend woke me up out of a deep sleep, and I remember saying “Don’t forget to move your mechanized infantry out of Yugoslavia” in a drowsy but earnest voice. She was pretty confused, and so was I.

    Another time I woke up in a cold sweat because I had done three or four crucial planes + inf attacks in a dream and all of them ended up with me losing my infantry and not taking a single territory.

    That is the kind of shit this game does to me. I don’t know why I play it.

    I really don’t mind you moving that sub in SZ 80. “Suffer my mistake” for large, bad strategy, sure. Forgetting to simply move one piece, nah. And yeah, I’d scramble the fighters for sure, so that’s why I kept asking if you wanted to move it. I wouldn’t have kept asking if I wasn’t serious about having you move it if you wanted.

    As far as SZ 6, I just scored average hits, 10. This leaves you with 9 units, mostly rolling 4, against my 15 units, average rolls of 3. Choices, choices.

    Fiddled about terribly. Played around with retreating, but then realised I had misread your remaining destroyers, so changed my mind and decided to stay. That does mean I backtracked and started the go again.

    Unfortunately then only got 3 hits, as you will see. Not having any luck in this battle!

    I will undo the sz 80 battle at the end. Thanks.
