HBG - Axis & Allies Parts/Accessories and Custom Piece Sets Store!

  • Is it just me or did the French set just slip under the radar without anyone noticing?  Of all the sets HBG had on the go, the French one was the best one; from an economic perspective especially.  I don’t understand why they produce obscure/fringe-type units that very few people will be interested in, such as Sea Planes when they can produce a set that can replace several thousand pieces.  The interest is there for it, I’ve asked around.  I don’t get it…

We are working on a complete set. We showed it on our Facebook Page.

  • Pardon my ignorance.  I hope everything goes well for you.  I’ll be ordering at least two sets for myself, and more for other people.

  • About the 1936 Base set that have been out for pre order the last 4 weeks. Exactly how long is one week in America ? It looks like the pre order will never end.

We measure distance in hours and days of driving. Our weeks are longer than those in Europe.

  • Can someone post a picture of the HBG - South Dakota Class Battleship and the OOB Iowa Class Battleship side by side. I want to see if I want to purchase the HBG version as Global War II USA has the choice to build two types of battleships.

Pretty sure there is a thread around here showing that. S Dakota is more detailed. But it looks different, obviously.

  • For all the veteran HBG customers how often do they restock pieces? I placed a large order the other day to complete what  I need for Global War 1936 but most of the Japanese pumpkin orange pieces are out of stock. Also I like the dark grey German pieces and lot’s of those are also out of stock. I talked to the owner (I think his name is Doug) and I couldn’t get a clear answer.

Time to break out the spray paint!

  • So it will be months :-(

  • Gentlemen,

Coach and his team are dealing with the Chinese and US customs to get these sets done. Their ideas and time frames and his don’t always match up. I have spoken with him about this multiple times in the last several years and it can be very frustrating to give an estimated available to purchase date and then have many circumstances beyond his control interrupt the production of his new sets. so I just order when i can and hope for the best knowing what he is dealing with to get the new units and sets produced so we can purchase them.

So is there any word on the French units that were announced some time ago?  Love to give coach my money for those!

We are working on them, getting a lot of pieces in Late October and November, Base 1936 plus refills for Japanese, Germans, neutrals, etc

That is excellent news! I desperately want those French!

And modern units one day would be awesome!

  • I’m thinking of buying the Amerika game as well as some of the custom battle sculpts, as well as a few 3D printed pieces. How long do they usually take to ship? Do the 3D printed pieces take longer?

  • '18 '17 '16

The shipping time depends on where you live. They get the orders out pretty quick it’s just a matter of how long the postal service takes to get to you. The longest wait for me to get my orders is the wait at the border as the package gets through customs. Sometimes I’m pretty sure they are opening my box and playing with my little plastic army men. If the 3D pieces are in stock then they will get to you in the same amount of time as any other piece.

  • If anyone has ivory and blonde color pieces from HBG can you please post a picture of a few pieces side by side. I want to see if they are close in color.

So, any updates on upcoming pieces?

  • Got the base set, but not happy with the colors of Japan, Russia and Italy

  • HBG,

I don’t know if you’re taking requests, or if this forum post is the place to leave requests, but something I’d like to see HBG do (when you all get some time) is to produce the artillery and cruiser sculpts for A&A 1941 that Avalon Hill dropped from the piece line up before 1941 came out. We know what they were supposed to be from Kreighund’s posting on sculpt sources on Larry’s board (source: http://www.harrisgamedesign.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1871&sid=13234bf586f49aa96fb97559e8a2cf78)

To save you from digging, they were going to make maroon, tan, and green USSR M1943 howitzers and UK Town class, Southampton subclass cruisers and black and burnt orange Japanese Type 96 howitzers and German Konigsberg class cruisers. It’s my belief that the following Wikipedia links point to what Avalon Hill would have been using for inspiration if they had gone ahead and made artillery and cruisers for 1941:

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/152_mm_howitzer_M1943_(D-1)
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town-class_cruiser_(1936)
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_96_15_cm_howitzer
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6nigsberg-class_cruiser_(1927)

If HBG could make up the short fall that Avalon Hill left when they dropped artillery and cruisers from 1941’s piece line up, that would be awesome.
