@gamerman01 You like OOB more than Balanced Mod for the same reasons as me, lol. I have played a couple solo games of Balanced Mod and one game of Path to Victory against a player. Balanced Mod felt “unnatural”. Garrisons spawning in empty Axis territories is really weird. Theoretically China could gain more men from empty enemy territories than from its own money. And the NOs involving Crete/Cyprus or whichever one it was are also weird, that area is so unimportant that it feels like you have to kill a mosquito to gain extra money. That makes the gameplay in that sense not fun. These are just some examples.

The Path to Victory game was quite interesting, but it uses the same NOs so it therefore gets the same critique. At least it has a bunch of new territories which makes the gameplay more interesting but I have not played enough games of it to really feel it in practice.

2024? Oh man, that’s a long wait! I feel bad for you that you are so busy. I am fortunately not as busy anymore but the times I was busy were terrible. All the games I was playing suddenly became more stressful than fun. I therefore quit every game. Now I will take it on more slowly, playing only a couple of games at a time and not like 10. The most games I played at the same time was 15 I think. Not recommended lol

I really like the idea of a League. I love rankings, standings and tournaments, and especially for Axis & Allies, which is my favorite board game. I love strategic thinking and would love to become good at it. I will surely play more league games in the future, and hopefully win some games! 😊

Interesting. I personally like the Yunnan move. I feel Japan is way too strong otherwise, both from a historical as well as a playability perspective. If China is an easy cakewalk, Japan won’t have a hard time achieving most of its goals unless the Allies are doing some effective KJF strategy. With the Yunnan gambit, the Chinese are a lot harder to defeat and in some cases can actually become a threat. It is a lot harder for Japan to get going in this situation. The Japanese player has to scratch their head more, and the Allies have more breathing room. This makes the game more fun I find. Also, the game is already imbalanced in favor of the Axis so I think it would be only good to do a move that would help the disadvantaged side out.
