    I’ll be interested in your comments on this game as well at the end or as it becomes irrelevant to the choices we are going to make in the game. (and if JDOW or others are lurking  :-) then them as well).

    In that first game I made an effort to save the British battleship despite knowing that no matter what I did you could take it out. In making it costly, I thought it would at least prevent you from using air elsewhere. I felt that was a wasted effort on my part and that informed my decision to take it as a casualty instead  this time. This time around, I think I actually could have saved it, but probably at the cost of doing the move I made or doing Taranto. When you didn’t take it as a casualty, I thought that might have been because it was the obvious choice or just because it was the most valuable unit. Anyway, I’m curious.

    Another question is whether I should have done Taranto instead?

    I think I have had more dice luck. Nothing too dramatic but I’ve gotten a way with less attrition and you have taken a bit more than you should have. I don’t know how much of an impact this has had on the game so far but am curious about that too.

    I just leave the default alive so that you can make a choice. Depending on Germany’s buy and the results of the battles, BB or fighter could be kept.

    92 stack is the way to go when Japan JDOWs on turn 1. UK gets their fleet into position to help the US in putting pressure on Germany, while Italy can never grow much.

    I made the edit. You will see that I split the Chinese units though and I also edited the UK cruiser since its initial move was tied to the stacking of Yunnan.

    I have more confidence now in the move I made (in Yunnan). I thought it would be a bit cheap though to change my mind again given that I could see your Italy turn which in this case could effect  my Pacific choices (you took some pressure off of Egypt and so the air there could more safely move east if I needed them too).

    I liked the Yunnan stack move because while you were likely to take it back, it should have wiped out at least half your air. But I hesitated because I thought you were still probably in a position to take it back and follow up by taking India. Once it no longer matters, I’m curious what you think I should have done there and hypothetically what your response would have been.

    I saw the Kweichow attack as useful regardless of what I did in Yunnan. My thinking was that unless I had terrible luck I should be able to at least trade Chinese inf for Japanese land units that won’t be able to threaten India later. You can rebuild but it will take a couple of turns. Of course winning that made stacking Yunnan an option too.

    Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to edit. Feel free to edit back if you think I should be stuck with my previous choices.

    Also, as a side note, this is actually our game 2, not 3.

    Just saw your comment JDOW after I made my moves.

    I agree that my odds in the game are better if I stuck it out in Yunnan. It could go disastrously wrong but there is a lot of risk for Adam there too.  But I’m now making that judgement with a clearer sense of what Adam did on his Italy turn which has consequences for me in the pacific. Felt I’d be more of a cheat if I stuck with my original move (with all the new info I now have) than if I went with the edit (when I still hadn’t seen his move).
