    omg, a classic example of my daftness. I confused the order of taking those two countries. Taking it with the US and landing the French inf in Norway would have given the absolute same result, one inf in Denmark, one additional for Norway, with Italy still having no chance to conquer Denmark (only clear it, but that would still prevent the German navy from coming out). Oh well, maximum damage for zero gain. I’d be tempted to ask for correction, but I guess Italy moving in between is a problem, even if it could not have done something immediately.

    Need to get over my horrible unthoughtfulness.

    What I do not know, however, is about technicalities. What happens when you scramble, this TT on its own and lost with inf on board?


  • I remember a reading a question about this before. The way I understood Gamer’s or Krieg’s response (can’t remember which of the two of them answered, or maybe both did) was that everyone lives since you American ships can attack and I can’t kill the transport. But the infantry would be stuck on the transport since it was part of an unsuccessful assault, feel free to unload him in Norway instead if you wish.

    We can always ask Gamer just to validate in case my understanding of the rules is off.

    I trust you of course, but for other, local, games, it might be good to have a reference somewhere in an FAQ or so. I would not know where to look for this case.

    In any case,  I am doomed. Sorry for delay, turn tonight.


  • I’ll ask Gamer to weigh in. I’d like to know for sure at least for myself and future reference more than anything else. I’m like 95% that that’s the case, good but not 100%.

    This is correct.  You would have to have French warships or warplanes in Z112 to fight and defeat the scrambled air in order to land the Frenchie off the allied transport.

    The good news for you is that nothing happens (transport and cargo is not lost), just the landing is prevented.

    And yes, this had to come from Krieghund because this is not in the rulebook or FAQ.

    Thanks Gamerman. Really handy to know for local games.

    As for being happy, no, the surviving Frenchie is no consolation as taking Denmark was a necessity and should have happened the other way round, US to Den and France to reinforce Norway.

    Seth, too late here, sorry for keeping you another day. Will be away for two days, but I am certain I can do the turn tomorrow (internet at the hotel allowing). If not, I can at least ask you to make edits, with F should be no prob.

    Gamerman, I am quite aware that Seth is allowing me something he is not required to do, no worries.  I am unhappy with myself, not with him. As for the word happy, I think I wrongly used it, having your “happen” in mind.
