went for Bryansk as I thought my odds were pretty good. But apparently I misunderstood it or that below average first round killed me. I took your British bomber as a casualty assuming you would go max defense. If you think you might have held onto it given the rolls feel free to change it for a Russian inf if you prefer.

Your odds were actually excellent by my calculation if you took everything that could get there. So either you didn’t do that or you rolled badly.

You might be wondering why I stacked if your odds were excellent. Well, first I missed Italy clearing Belarus so that you could bring the Novgorod forces in. However, even after that I saw that I had a two-pronged counterattack that would all but annihilate your forces in Russia, and you had no follow-up forces coming – it would have taken you three or four turns to recover from that, and you never would have been able to kill Russia.

I brought in everything I think and had about 85%. My first roll was 6 below and yours was 3 above and that made the difference I think.
I’ve had a fair bit of dice luck in this one so it was definitely your turn.

I did figure that that was what you were going for but 85% odds are hard to ignore, especially since your air was there too. I was hoping that with Novgorod and Ukraine I would have been in a position to more quickly recover but definitely a risk.

Yep, the dice always swing. You made the right call in retreating.
I don’t think you made the right call in attacking though, for reasons that I already outlined – by my calculations I had about an 80% chance of clearing all but a few German units from Russia right there, which is well worth the gamble based on the strategic ramifications of the outcome.

Having a PC issue, fan dying quiet noisily. It’s like a mini auto crash every few minutes. Trying to get it repaired. Assume it’s going to be three days before I can post.
