• Whats your ride? I used to be a big car nut back when I was younger and dumber. Currently I have 1970 Ford F100 Ranger. 300ci I-6 and a Borg-Warner T-18 4 speed (granny low). Its nice having a tank that can walk over a soccer mom piloted SUV and still gets low 20 mpgs.

  • 2003 Suzuki Aerio SX Fastback…

The best things about the car (other than the fuel mileage and all the equipment on it) are:
    1.  I bought it new
    2.  It is paid in full

My favorite was a 2000 Ford Mustang customized to look and sound like a Cobra.

My most useful was a 1999 Dodge Durango, but it was expensive.

My current is a 2006 Toyota Matrix.  Functional, efficient, cheap, but man I feel like a soccer mom!

Summer car-1971 Ford Mustang, fast back, black with silver accents. Original 302, 4 barrel carb. Oh so much fun, except for the cost of gas.

Winter car-1999 Ford Escort SE. Small, efficient on gas and maintenance.

Both are paid for, such a good feeling.

Took me awhile to put this together:

1972 Nova – first car, fast, too fast wrecked it in 91

1970 GMC 4x4 P/U – awesome truck would go anywhere and did, expensive to maintain while I was in college, regretfuly sold it while in college.

1969 Chevy Suburban 3/4ton - Absolute tank, held 60 gallons of gas, I was hit by a drunk drive and it was totaled in 93

1971 Chevy 1/2ton P/U – Another fast one, I maintained it poorly and wore it out around 96

1994 Toyota P/U Wife’s P/U she wasn’t so good at driving it in the rain… Totaled in 94

1990 Geo Metro – As an act or lunatic desperation I bought this to save gas I saved gas, but had to get dark tint so no one could see me.

1991 Chevy P/U – Ah, back on track. Traded that despised geo for a man wagon.  I put 33” Mickey thompsons on this bad boy and rolled in style for a while.

1994 Saturn Got this one for my wife after the Toyota was totaled, I don’t like small cars, but she does…

1989 Chevy Suburban 4x4 – King of off road, I once pulled an RV out of the mud with this beast, it was stolen and totaled about 6 years ago, I still miss it…

1978 Chevy Blazer  Replaced the Suburban with this, CC has ridden in it, sweet for off road it’s my back up ride now, small block 400 and 33” Ats.

2000 Chevy Impala  I really liked this car, but I was driving late and tired and smashed it up in 04.

1991 Toyota 4Runner  this was my daily driver for a few years and it would climb a wall on the weekend, but mileage sucked so I sold it a few months ago.

2002 Dodge Neon wifes car after I busted the Impala didn’t like it and didn’t have it long.

2004 Toyota Corolla – bout this one for my wife she loved it, but when the third kid was born it was time to move on to a mini van.

2007 Toyota Sienna – I hate to admit it, but I like minivans for driving around with the kids, don’t tell any one I might loose my ma card.

1999 Chevy S10 4x4 – 24 mpg and it’s paid for this is what I drive to work now.

I’ll probably sell the S10 later this year before I leave for Iraq, and then buy something new, a truck, when I get home.

we shouldnt drive cars.  go more green.

like dogsleds but with wheels, and have about 300 squirrels hitched to it.  and mush them.  i wonder if they could get you going as fast as they move in danger.

  • DF…

I think you need to change your name to DC…  CAT.  I think you have almost used up 9 lives there with those vehicle wrecks…

LOL, I think I’ve actualy been in 9 wrecks if you count single car wrecks.  Some more serious than others, I wrecked my first car 4 times before I totaled it, all my fault.  Did I mention that it was fast?

  • I’ve been in wrecks, but never my fault and only once when I was driving.  An off duty cop ran a red light and tore of the front of my Taurus.  Scared the crap out of my son (only about 6 months old or so), but his mom was with him and I think she made him do the right thing.

  • When i was about 18 i went to Tahoe/Reno area and was thinking to myself “this road is rather narrow and winding and id hate to be caught in the rain out here…” About 30 seconds latter it started to rain. Then my next thought was  “ah this road is going to be slippery not to mention its got lots of turns…” I then decided not to test fate further and slowed down to like 25 miles an hour and after about a minute of driving uber slow the car lost total control and rolled off a cliff that was about 20 feet down on a slow draping and soft slope. I could not believe my luck.

Of course i called a cop and when he should up 15 minutes latter all he did was give me a ticket ( for unsafe driving) and leave after i told him i was ok. my 84 Z-28 Camaro was wasted.

The thing was i really was thinking i had better drive safe and deliberately going at a snails space when the car lost it.

    it was weird.
