    Yeah, but with 0/3 I guess it is below average again, but overall nothing really bad, I agree^^ However I would prefer punishing the Germans instead of the Italians.

    Your German Route is very nice and as it works definitely superior over walking with the main stack through Baltic states.
    I haven’t found a great way to prevent that (one option would of course have been not taking Finland. On the other hand this also killed potential invaders for Novo G5 like now.)
    I guess my stack in Bryansk was a bit too large and I could have parked my Mech Units in Smolensk to keep pressure on Novo. However you could have can opened with IT in Belarus and then walked into Archangel. And I did not want to put Units there.

    So maybe just the Russian destiny to lose Novo G5 without retaking plus Caucasus and Volo falling G6. At least I think it is not a no brainer to prevent that.
    I also saw the sz104 blocker coming but it was difficult to prevent. The only good thing is that this leaves me less options and less of a headache in my UK/US block:)

    So the Axis are doing well but hopefully still have some work to do:)

    True, glad I put him as outpost. After his unusual route starting in South Africa I am happy it seems that he found his dedication:)


  • Good analysis -
    I don’t think the Russians can do much to stop the Germans if the German player sends the needed resources and plays well…  All the Russians can do is delay things as much as possible and take out as many units as they can…

    And if the Germans give you a 50/50… in most cases - take it!!  It’s better than getting demolished in a 99% battle and only taking out infantry and artillery a couple of turns later.  Many players are still stuck with the idea that 50/50 is a chance you can’t take unless desperate, which was true in earlier versions of the game.  Some of those old “rules” of play are obsolete, and I see that the vast majority of players are VERY slow to unlearn them…

    I only took 1 Air into Ukraine but still go punished. AA hit, first round I made only 1 hit –> This was the worst possible outcome. Now the game turned from slight favor for you to being desperate for me.

    I now need to make a break and do the NCM later.
    My vision was to stay in Bryansk for one more turn. By wiping Ukraine you would not have had a can opener for Tambov so I only had to park one inf there.

    Now you have the chessy shot to open with Tank+Bomber and I need to sac even more Inf. 3 to be risky and 4 to be safe. I hate to sac 4 more inf. But I hate retreating to Moscow that turn even more. What would you do?

    this sucks so much. I wanted to be smart and now I look like an idiot. I somehow still think the attack would have been right because it would have saved Inf I had to put into Tambov + 2 IPC etc. As underdog I guess I would make that attack again.

    I now needed to hold Bryansk as otherwise the retreated Tank and 2 Art would be dead meat.

    I left 4 Inf ion Tambov: In case I did not overlook anything:

    • You have 15% to can open with Italy and insta win if it works
    • In case you sacrifice a Japanese Bomber you have a 2/3 chance to increase to 43%

    Please let me know if you consider this as a ridiculous and unreasonable gamble in an RU5, if you think so I will add one more Inf in Tambov then.

    That didn’t make you look like an idiot.  Any good player would agree that was not a bad decision.  You are too much a perfectionist - you are liable to quit playing A&A out of frustration for how the dice foils your plans - I’ve seen it several times….  You just have to remember that it does the same to your opponent just as often, but perhaps not in the same game!

    Some games are won or lost due to dice, but it is only around 20%… Still, that’s 1 in 5
