18L axis-dominion (+6) vs oysteilo (allies) bm3

    I admit, it sounds tempting to me to take the position over at the USA move in which Oysteilo decided to abandon Caro.
    It looked to me that the Allies had a potent position at this moment. But I admit, I sometimes tend to overestimate Allied position so I can tell that I am absolute NOT certainly that I will win from there.

    AD, what do you think? Would you be willing to play this position for fun for a while from there another time?

    BTW: I just realized, Germany would NOT have an attack on Egypt or I am mistaken?

    In this case I consider it definitely premature to resign. What happened during the German turn that made you think the tide turned Oysteilo?

    Also, you are even in position to prepare for the turn after the next turn, so the Germans might maybe even get stuck or at least have to take a dice battle to finally to take Egypt.

    I think the position would definitely be worth to fight. Japan is close to collapsing. Maybe it would already be collapsed in case you would have stayed at Caro US7.

    I admit, I did not have many long games in BM yet but as long as Egypt has not fallen for good with Germany remaining strong I think the Allies should continue.

    Germany is making 90 + and will be for a long time. I was looking into trying an combined attack on india with UK and russia with my transports and planes, but wont change anything

    so I decided to defend egypt. Maybe there are som tricks I can pull to delay the suffer, but at the end of the day Germany can just build and build and build and build. I have a week moscow and potentially a strong egypt, but USA is too slow in europe to make a difference

    I am happy to play this out with you jdow but this is a lost case in my opinion

    hmm not sure I’d like to replay this yet again :) was a fun game but certainly Japan was a challenge. I’d be down for a new league game with you whenever you’re ready.

    It’s fine. Just for the record, this how I could have imagined Allies should have played US/CHI/UK 7.

    key elements:

    • Beginn to make pressure from 110 (as Oysteilo did bid keeping the US troops alive)
    • Moving north with the US/Chinese /Russians in order to liberate Manchuria, Russian territories and Korea
    • Stay at Caro to squeeze the Japanese and to force them to use blockers
    • Move the fleet from sz98 towards the Indian ocean in order to sooner or later take the money islands away from Japan and to keep a threat on India
    • Utilize the AA in the USA

    Note, I forgot to kill the 2 Japanese TTs with the bomber so I edited the SBR back.

    And the last key elements. Try to buy 5-6 cheap units in Egypt and SA every turn in order to make it as hard as possible to take Egypt.
    This comes combined with buying transports in 110 for both, pressure on Germany and an emergency unit transfer in case Egypt gets in trouble.

    Well. That is ok as the ground battles went hrewt. Ineven removed one unit in cauc to habe the dice more close to even.

    You can continue with this map. The outcome was fair imo, maybe even slightly favors allies as i won the shaky battle in africa.

    I admit. I dis not run all calculations but should be ok.
