the file opens fine so i will roll tomorrow. thanks for the fix
18L axis-dominion (+6) vs oysteilo (allies) bm3

well, feel free to change your mind on the surrender. but if you insist, then we should start a new game. you can choose which side.
I think you are a solid opponent. I hadn’t played you in a long, long time. I must say you’ve improved so much!
you think this is premature??? If you REALLY do I will consider it. There is no momentum. USA will be minus 15 next round, maybe UK will be a buck up, Russia will be down minus 15 or so and germany will be up +10 or so
dont you think?

lets have some experts look at the situation and give their take then, ok with that?

I’ll call on JDOW and ADAM
JDOW and ADAM:
Can you “call” this game? I am convinced this is a brutal loss for the allies. axis-d think i should continue
-
I assue I can restart Soviet this round
-
It doesn’t look like Egypt can be saved, and Allies don’t have anything to pressure Germany who can then take 6 turns or so building slow then fast units to take Moscow.
It’s not that premature.
-
With China fallen (tough to reclaim by the Germans given the partisan rules), USA at 101 income, 97 convoyed, +400 IPC before Japan (and probably 450-500 IPC edge after UK) I admit, I would not surrender at this time.
The Axis have the advantage but before Egypt has fallen for sure I would continue.
However I would redo the Russian turn. Reclaim and stack as many territories as you can.
And fight for Egypt. -
I assue I can restart Soviet this round
Yes of course. If you decide to continue, you may resume from start of Russian turn.

Don’t understand why you say this. This game is lost big time by the allies. They have nothing here long-term. In two rounds income is equal and all momentum on axis hands.
-
If you think you can squeeze out a win here I am more than ok to hand it over to you :-D
-
hmm, maybe I tend to overestimate the position for the Allies. But China will be lost for Japan which is a big factor as the do not threaten VC victory and this makes sure their income keeps limited.
Italians under controlUSA 101 to spend, Russia safe, Egypt…let’s see, I guess UK can make it nasty to take it.
Sure, Russia is a problem sooner or later and you could have a bit more momentum in Europe, also in Asia. You always shoot your bullets with transports too spewy :-)
But I think there is still some game in here.
So yes, maybe I was a bit optimistic on the first glance. Axis seem to have the upper hand but I still see room to fight for the Allies.
-
It was for instance completely unnecessary to throw a transport towards Manchuria. You have enough Chinese to take care of that. That TT could have been used more effectively.
In case you throw transports in, you at least want to force Japan to lose a TT as well to retake it.
In Manchuria, Japan could just have retaken without making any concessions. So do not throw it in here, safe it and keep the threat level.
Sorry for jumping in AD:D

I’m cool with it. It’s good for people to learn from your wisdom.

Also, why did you leave Carolines? You had a great position there, disrupting resupplies from sz6 forcing him to use blockers. If I did not overlook anything Japan had not even close the odds to attack you there?
Then, why do you have 5 US carriers in the Pacific but only 6 US fighters? This does not match
So yes, in case you continue making moves that favor Japan, you might get in trouble :-)
