    I will carry on Shin. But not today I am afraid.

    You clearly believe that even if I had taken London it would have been a bad move, even though you have no TTs in range. I will bow to your superior experience, since I only started A&A when I got 1941 as an Xmas present two years ago.

    I do know, however, that however briefly I would have felt that I was winning this game!

    I’ve been playing for a while, it’s true, but you’ll notice I’m very much in the middle of the pack each year.  We’re all still working out the details of Balanced Mod in particular, but it has been my experience, both as Axis and Allies, that doing Sealion tends to weaken the Axis more often than not.

    It’s one of those things that is not at all obvious, and not everyone agrees.  Essentially, it works like this - you take the UK, and Germany gets a boost in money.  But that money boost isn’t really enough to take care of Russia on its own, esp without your airpower.  So Russia and Germany tend to stall out.  Egypt falls, but it’s then tricky to get those last few cities you need.

    Now, I have seen it work as a distraction.  The Allies freak out and go heavy Atlantic, and then Japan wins.  And sometimes it even works the way you’d expect it to, with a Axis Euro win.  It all depends.
