    According to the TripleA notes: One of the rules that Triplea doesn’t enforce and is player enforced rule (PE) is :

    • (PE) You may not attack a territory containing units owned by a nation that you are not at war with (even if the territory is owned by someone you are at war with).

    As Russia was not at war with Germany during Round 3 and German troops were in Eastern Poland, they cannot attack the Italian tanks in Eastern Poland unless Russia declared war on Germany that turn and attacked the combined force.

    You can double check with a Moderator if you wish, but I think the two Italian tanks and the Russian infantry lost should be placed back on the game map.
