By the way, the reason is because the UK is at war with Germany (so UK is not a neutral power)
UK/ANZ/USA can’t fly over Chinese territories without declaring war on Japan because it is a special rule, that Japan considers this an act of war.
But UK can fly over Japanese territories and Japan can fly over UK/ANZ territories without being at war with each other,because neither power is neutral (even though they are not at war with one another).
Programmer of Triple A was confused about this rule when he programmed it, but has since agreed that it is wrong (is about the 11th * down, if you go to Help->Game Notes)

If you want your amazing French fighter to intercept in London, go ahead and roll 3 bombers vs 1 fighter. If the French fighter downs a bomber, you can remove 7 damage from London, and of course my bomber too.
