    well this is embarassing. i thought the sub would stop the uk from getting to sz114.
    i checked the rule book and you can ignore it with the destroyer escort and i can not scramble. i lose berlin and the game.

    i am not used to losing, even with poor dice. you played great and i was looking forward to finishing this game as i felt i might lose.

    it is very sportsmanlike of you to let me change my noncombat, but my whole german(and italian) turn was based of the sub initiating a scramble. i am going to see if i change my noncombat, if i can still defend. if so, and you are still offering, i will take you up on the edit option.


  • Yes I’m still offering.

    The sub can be ignored even WITHOUT any destroyers.
    A sub has to be in the DESTINATION zone to stop unescorted transports.

    allweneed - i’m not going to say anything more regarding strategy in this game, except to say, it appears gamerman wants to take his time because he had the opportunity to take berlin with 96% certainty after you made your adjustments and he declined.  :-)  or MAYBE he didn’t realize it?  :wink:

  • Looks like I messed up the calculation on that
    I could have moved 2 ANZ fighters there but thought it was 50/50 at the time
    I considered air from Malaya but probably forgot the islands 2 spaces away from 33
    I don’t know - oh well

    Do not scramble the tac - it will remain to take out your infantry and then sink your surviving cruiser  :wink:

    Yeah, all we would need to do is edit the ANZ fighters to the Carolines.  I didn’t want to ask you to do it because it involves re-figuring your Japan turn.  Sounds like you’re willing to do that and I really appreciate it, but I’ll take my lumps.  Thanks for offering the option.

    The ANZ fighters in Java can get to India and then potentially to Russia, and after your victory, at least your planes will be out in the middle of the Pacific

    I’m sure I saw everything that could get there…. must not have entered something in the calculator correctly.

    No, I want you to leave everything as is, and don’t scramble the USA tac so it will fight the infantry


  • I had changed my mind in the middle of that post

    I know it was confusing that I was talking about editing the ANZ fighters, but that’s all I was doing - talking about it.

    I’m fine with leaving them in Java.  I don’t know how I got the numbers I did when doing ANZ turn, thinking that there was close to 50/50 in Z33, but that’s part of the game.  I must have screwed up the battle calculation and now I’m going to pay for it.
