13 GL Zhukov4 vrs. Boldfresh (allies +9)

  • '12

Just take the win I dont even want to look at the map.

  • '12

The two minor battles I did decently in were finland and z91 but they pale in comparison to the france wipeout which rolled into an even bigger moscow wipeout.  I should have conceded after g1.

Cheers thanks for the game I guess.  Too bad the dice were so wicked to the allies.

  • @Boldfresh:

Tell me if im wrong but I think u were expected to come out of that battle with little more than tanks and aircraft or did I miscalculate badly somehow?  U were about +25 units right?

According to my approximations, you could only expect to be starting to get into his artillery.

25 percentile to 75 percentile was German winning with 1 infantry (0 artillery lost) to 6 artillery surviving

  • I had to approximate because that was too many units for my calculator to handle.  I took it after round 1, assuming average round 1 results (you were like 12 hits under on the first round)

  • And then he was able to take off artillery because he didn’t need the firepower…

He came out at least 20 mech extra, maybe 25, like you said, yeah

  • '12

like i said, not worth continuing.  game was completely ruined by dice - the germans were virtually invincible  :|

  • Like you said, you probably could have quit after G1, so this dicing in Moscow was kind of moot, right?  And maybe saved you a bunch of time fighting a losing cause, if it wasn’t as lopsided?

    Tip your cap and rematch?

  • '12

nah i know better than rematch a man whose dice are on fire.  i’ll stay away from him for a while and wait till they cool off.

  • '12

round 1 the german was 4 hits over and the russian was 12 hits under.  second round the german was 6 hits over and the russian was 3 hits under.  even the last round the russian was 2 hits under.  incredible.

you are COLD zhukov, for not even offering the slightest apology…  :-P

  • Maybe it’s in the game notes

  • '12

i’ll tell ya what i WILL do.  i will take you on Zhuk, switch sides and
we start the game after your perfect G1.   :-P

GG.  It was entertaining and I learned alot as it went.

Opening dice are really important, so even though the 91 dicing was severe, I’ll concede the dice were favoring me up till Moscow.  It was 110 more than France that hurt u.  Moscow was absurd, but I’d be in great position with average dice too.

If dice are frustrating you, try low luck.  There’s a few low luck TripleA AA50 experts who would like to be playing on these forums but they only want to play low luck (they don’t like losing–it’s unfortunate but there it is).  That was the secret to my modest success as an aa50 player–I practiced my strats against the guys on the TripleA ladder, who were formidable.  With Global, though, there’s no ladder so it’s either the lobby or here.

If you and/or Gamer ever have time for a live game on the lobby let me know and maybe we can arrange it!

  • Thanks for the invite, Zhukov, I’ll keep that in mind

  • '12

That is about as bad as dice can get in a battle that large.  If you had been down to mostly tanks and aircraft I would have continued.  But having so many extra units was a game ender.  No thanks on low luck I like the challenge of full luck because this very thing can happen at any time.  My pride isnt too big to take a few hits like this  :-P

    Until next time…

    Game ruined by dice?

You just got outplayed, big time, boldfresh. How does russia have no allied fighters to defend himself with? Anzac, uk, and america typically send something to help.

Average expected units left after taking russia was 36 - that is ridiculous. You put yourself in this position with your gameplay.

first game with the allies in a long time - and if you had read back through the game, i admitted i had made a lot of mistakes - was very distracted during the course of this game.  that all being said, if i had gotten as lucky as you did in russia in your XDAP game, i still would have won

  • '12

cow, the bottom line is your “legend in your own mind” status is about to be on the line on the big stage in XDAP.  finally our play will get to do the talking - i think they call it put up or shut up?  your ridiculous streak of luck is going to have to IMPROVE for you to have much chance.

  • '12

truth is, i know you are asking yourself if i’m really this bad with the allies or whether this game was just for your benefit.

  • TripleA

I got a big bag of tricks, I don’t skip sz 97 when I get a sub bid. My play has improved as a result of those games, unlike you I learn. :)

  • TripleA

Besides I had no bid and a bid of 2 in both my games. So for me to come out on top, even with luck, it still feels good.
