    My understanding of the rules regarding landing aircraft on a CV is uncertain.

    1.On one hand, the rules specify a suicide mission is not allowed and that there need to be enough spaces on a CV to land all planes that do not have another eligible space. The implication of this understanding is that you could send only 4 UK fighters/TACs from SZ 98/Egypt to to attack SZ 92.
    2. On the other hand, I have a vague recollection of an informal (?) agreement that any number of aircraft can be sent to a SZ IF battle loses are expected. This understanding would imply that you could send all 5 UK fighters/TACs from SZ 98/Egypt to to attack SZ 92.

    I assumed the worse (Understanding #2) and left an Italian DD to its doom in SZ96. If Understanding #1, not Understanding #2, actually applies, please give the DD in SZ 96 a reprieve and rejoin it with the Italian fleet in SZ 92.

    yes #1 is correct, there would be no way to send 5 air if I only have space for 4 of them to land (unless of course, the US cv was also available to catch the air–but only if I’m at war). I’ll edit your dd as you requested

    Apparently, some of your units in SZ 98 are UK in origin and some are UK-Pac and if the Battle Calculator is set to UK, then the UK-Pac units are not counted in a simulated attack. I’ve heard before that you need to be careful with the BC because of this. I was get a chance of UK victory at about 40%. I just re-ran the BC entering manually the UK units in SZ 98 and got a 90+% chance of UK victory (with the Italian DD and German ships). So given more accurate intelligence, please leave the DD in place (in SZ96). Sorry for the inconvenience. But boy, the Battle Calculator should warn you that not all units are counted.
