    I am not sure which of your moves you considered bone-headed! I think I played the US turn 5 about 6 times trying different attacks and placements before I found one I liked. Perks of the forum format! I feel my strongest position is the Soviets, the dice gods favored me in that one battle. Not sure how the battle for Africa will progress at this point, gonna be a fraught campaign for the Brits!

    Moving the Japanese sub to SZ 76 was a bonehead move, because–for reasons unknown–I concluded the French DD was out of range.

  • Ah, the Japanese sub. Yeah that makes sense. It still paid for half of itself depriving me of the NO for one round, at least.

    On reconsidering CM, thanks, that’s generous. I stuck with the original plan. In hindsight I think I discounted either the fighter or the tactical and would have brought in one more infantry, but the dice would not have favored me either way. Got fantastic dice in Northern Belarus, of course… :laughing:

  • @ArtofWar1947 Thanks, yes it was my first win. Have this and a couple other games going. I would not have scrambled, good call there.

    Unfortunate about Quebec, I misunderstood that the carriers in 110 could not scramble an empty, adjacent SZ to defend an Amphibious assault. I was thinking since airbases can even without defending ships the Carrier could too. Still learning!

    The scramble rule for air bases and CVs is the same for land territories but different for sea zones. I find this inconsistency in the rules inelegant and I still have to consciously think each time what rule applies.

    Do you want me to enter the French move or do the French have something their planning?

  • @ArtofWar1947 Shoot, having an issue loading PtV in my 2.5 client on this computer and I don’t have my laptop handy. Can you post a screenshot so I can look through to give OOL? For subs I will take 1 hit on the British carrier and sink one British sub
