    Haha, well said! :mrgreen: Lots of truth in that. In fact, this is one of the recent developments we saw in the previous league year. Some strategies evolved to stop the Germans from rushing Russia and the appropriate counter strategy was to play the economic game and drag it out long term.

    In fact there was a misconception in place. I guess for a long time many people thought that time always plays for the Allies, however this is not necessarily the case.

    Bingo! That, in my opinion, is the #1 balance issue with the game:unlike with every other A&A map I have played, in G40 Axis have the luxury of simply waiting out the allies after a certain income level is achieved, which occurs too early and too easily. Its also the main reason why a simple bid (even in high double digits) is an nadequate prophylactic. Its not the starting units that create the real imbalance. It’s the Axis’s huge positional advantage coupled with Axis-friendly economics over the long term.

    The G40 Balance mod addresses this issue by changing the fundamental economics of the game, even as the starting units and early game dynamics remain unchanged. With a possible 37 PU increase in Allied production over time (42 if Japan declares war on Russia unprovoked), the mod creates a ‘race against time’ where Axis must leverage its positional advantage against Allies quickly and effectively in order to keep pace with the Allied production juggernaut in later stages.
