    Taking a 58% shot on half your fleet isn’t particularly aggressive - it’s smart.
    Axis should never give Allies a 50% shot on a big stack in the first several rounds.
    Axis units are more valuable than Allied ones
    Taking down half your carriers, and effectively half your fleet, is definitely the thing to do at this point.

    It appears you are very fortunate as you are dodging a major bullet here

    Axis can’t replace their powerhouse front line.  That would be Japanese carriers, fighters, and men

    Karl gave me a 50/50 shot on half his German army 2 spaces from Moscow.  Now am I going to take a 50/50 now, or wait for him to squash me with 99% odds in 2 turns?
    He was surprised I attacked.
    Moscow was saved.

    What was so offensive?

    If I don’t say anything, you’d probably keep offering up juicy targets for the Allies like that in future games
    You were surprised he was “aggressive” and I was giving you a different perspective on it from my experienced viewpoint.

    I have consistently won 80-90% of my A&A games through the years, and I was offering some helpful insights.
    If that makes you angry, I think it just hurts your pride to have someone comment on a mistake you made.

    OK, I’m sorry that my comments made you feel inferior - that is not what was intended.

    I was only trying to help your game, and when I said “you’ll learn”, I only meant confidence in your ability to move along the learning curve quickly like a lot of us other good players are doing.

    Don’t assume the worst of people when in doubt - it strains potential relationships.

    Here’s the deal - I’m good with the learning opportunity. I have a lot to learn. You and allweneedislove are the top competition here, and the lessons learned are great ones, and make us all better players. I completely get it that destroying Axis capital units early can have a huge effect - in my play experience, I see a little more risk averse play based on odds, and don’t expect my opponent to make wave attacks on what look to me to be unassailable (or suicidal) positions. I’m learning that my reasoning is flawed. I don’t have a pride issue, or an inferiority issue. I know what I am… a B+ player who sometimes rises to the level of A- on a good day, and loves to learn the game.

    My problem was with the tonality of saying to someone you don’t know “You’ll learn” in a blog format. My opinion is that a phrase like that is deserving of an emoticon so that it won’t be misinterpreted. I made my case to you privately.

    on the flipside, when the allies make an attack like this and it goes poorly (as it has here) it can cripple them the remainder of the game.  big fleet battles are notoriously mega dicey for me.
