Hmm, losing 2 subs, fighter and tac when I didn’t even scramble - yeah, that’s a setback
Everything else went fine for you though! :-)I forget - we are playing with regular tech rules, aren’t we?
-
As is, the tokens dont save…yes
Or we can go no tech, doesn’t matter

I prefer the default “optional” tech rules.
So yes tech, no tokens, as you said -
Great, so I can waste 5 IPC’s on R1!
Maybe I can take the time to play R1 now…

You attacked Korea?

“What in the world is going on out here?”
I get asked this every time.
I want to take Mongolia off the table. I think it helps the Axis more than the Allies - the stupid Mongolia rules. I throw that infantry away as a matter of protest against the honorable Mr. Harris. I attack Korea specifically because he added it to the 2nd edition rules :x
If Mongolia is in play, then Japan can freely cross over between the Northern front and the Chinese front. Now you can’t.
-
What an interesting player you’ve gotten involved with, eh? You’ll probably learn all kinds of things this game. Or just decide I’m off my rocker.

I haven’t played with Triple A much yet.
I have a problem.
I attacked your 2 subs in Z106 with a destroyer, cruiser, and bomber.
Triple A incorrectly rolls the defending subs first, and asks for a casualty choice.
Problem is, before I choose a casualty I should know how many hits I scored on your subs. This makes a difference in choosing whether to lose my destroyer or cruiser.
Will you allow me to change my choice after seeing how many hits I scored? Because in the proper sequence of events, your subs do NOT have a surprise strike.
It should be:
- Attacker rolls
- Defender chooses casualties
- Defender rolls
- Attacker chooses casualties
It’s doing step 3, then step 4, then step 1, then step 2.
If I take off my destroyer now before seeing my rolls, and I don’t hit you twice, then your sub goes free.
I shouldn’t have to make a casualty choice before seeing my attack roll. It’s a fault with Triple A.Understand? So can I take off my destroyer now and if I don’t score 2 hits, change it to removing the cruiser?
Or… I could roll it out on the forum and then use edit mode to fix it, preserving the hit you got… That’s what I’ll do… -
So these will be the official dice for this battle.
I’ll preserve the hit your subs scored. Here’s my attack roll
Rolls: 1@2 1@3 1@4; Total Hits: 11@2: (5)1@3: (6)1@4: (2) -
OK, so I lose my cruiser after your subs hit me.
Round 2
Rolls: 1@2 1@4; Total Hits: 11@2: (6)1@4: (3)
Rolls: 1@1; Total Hits: 01@1: (3) -
OK, Z106 cleared with loss of a cruiser. Destroyer and bomber remain. I’ll use edit mode to reflect this if necessary.
-
Same result in Triple A anyway, so no edit necessary.
Moving on, then. -
Ok, didn’t know the order was wrong. Had to make tough decisions before.
-
I guess this means no 97 scramble? Woo hoo.
-
All of the above was finer with me, btw.
