With no experience with Alpha3, you were making me nervous with your mobile purchases with Germany, so I definitely wanted to take out two of them with the UK.
Russia will not be falling through G5 or 6, so I think I can at least make a game of it and not be a pushover. With as many hours as a guy has to invest in a single game of 1940, you definitely don’t want any huge early round gaffes making it a lopsided game….
I remember learning P40 and screwing up with the weird sea zones and it would have ruined a game but Funcioneta let me take it back so it wouldn’t… When doing America here tonight I thought wow a player could really ruin a game fast by throwing away a Japanese or American fleet over a counting error or forgetting a naval base/air base, what have you. With all the time invested in a global game, you have to be careful not to ruin games…

Yeah, on R3 I actually had to simulate our moves through R5 or R6 to see what I had to buy and what I would have to do with the UK and US… That move took forever, you might remember me mentioning, but it was necessary to make this a good game
