Not to keep going on about this, but thats what a J3 looks like with no US. You will take out zero transports. And japan grabbed everything of importance. Thats worth a lot more than 7 ipcs. UK better get quite the win out of DOW on japan otherwise its never worth it.

I think he assumed a G3 SL, with London falling down, falling down, falling down, which is why he went for the Dow on japan.
Just checked the rulebook. The US DD isn’t allowed to end turn next to “Japan-controlled territories”! That means it can’t remain in the DEI even if it wants to. Was kind of expecting original controlled or something.

True, but if I was truly aiming for a g3 then I likely would not have withheld a lot of the troops from advancing up to the Russian border. So changing my mind to go for a g4 would be harder (but maybe still feasible).
