obviously things are looking more and more desperate and my choices are reflecting that. I’m enjoying the game immensely but will probably be ready to concede after the next couple of turns. Maybe I will get a lucky roll or two and be able to hold out a bit longer.
No need to respond to this until after we are done but a couple of thoughts on the game so far. One of my expectations early in the game was that because you pushed the DOWs so late, it would favour me in the pacific. I was surprised by that choice as so far the players at the top of the league who I had played had been going for J1s.
I knew you could grab India early but figured that there was a good chance that in going for it you would sacrifice too much of you land units and you wouldn’t be able to hold it for more than a turn or two. I suppose with the right dice luck I might still get it back for a couple of turns but I was expecting to do better there (even if you were able to hold it for a turn or two).
I made a choice in one of the early turns to modestly stack Burma and leave my AA. I was thinking it was worth the risk of your air attack to hold the route to Yunnan open(with units that could reach Yunnan) and one turn (probably the same one) I built mechs instead of inf or art. As a consequence you ended up, a couple of turns later, being able to stack Burma safely. I was just short of the units to counter by a small margin. I’ve been left wondering how much of a difference it would have made had I built art and kept more units back. I’m sure there were plenty of other mistakes I made but that one stood out for me.

About the early India grab,you also bought an AA instead of inf/art which made the stacking of Burma significantly easier. Declaring with UK and leaving that stack in Burma was a mistake in my opinion.

So I will leave one fighter alive. If I leave just a fighter and withdraw rather than finish the combat, on the China turn an inf would spawn, but the fighter would not be destroyed as with Vichy rules right?

About the early India grab,you also bought an AA instead of inf/art which made the stacking of Burma significantly easier. Declaring with UK and leaving that stack in Burma was a mistake in my opinion.
Yeah. I think I underestimated how much you could land in Burma and assumed I still had enough to take it. The AA seemed to make sense since it was a better defensive unit against your air.
