    I think your CV,2x DD and the Ftr needs to stay in sz 19, since you moved them on CM (Combat Movement Phase)

    Are you sure?

    I’ve seen this happen lots of times when new units are placed in occupied sea zones. For that reason I’ve always assumed it was a legal move since the game allows it to happen, and because I’ve done it before and other players have done it against me.

    I’m sure you’re probably right, as you’re more experienced than I am; however, it would be nice to find it in the rules or on the forum somewhere.

    Obviously I wouldn’t have brought my fighter from W USA had I known that, but again, the game showed it as a legal move so I didn’t think twice about it.  In fact, since it was a five-space move it shouldn’t have even allowed it in the first place with the carrier there.

    That said, I know there are things that AAA allows that aren’t actually legal moves, so I’d just like to find out for sure.

    Can we wait while I post the question on the forum?

    Well, the verdict is in.  It looks like you are correct:  http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=38586.0

    I will most definitely rectify this; however, there is a small problem:  Not only would I have not brought my fighter from Eastern US had I known that, it was, in fact, an illegal move, it should not have been allowed to come at all but AAA allowed it anyway.

    Here’s my proposal:  I know for a fact that my two subs hit your destroyers, so that’s not an issue.

    However, one of my two fighters - one of which was illegal - scored a hit on one of your fighters.  Take your fighter back, giving you four on Japan again, as we’ll assume my one remaining fighter did not score the hit.

    You will still kill three of my subs because your fighters still scrambled.

    We’ll say the US fighter that moved illegally from Eastern US did not move during combat since it really shouldn’t have been able to.

    Since I can’t bring my boats back to sz 6 I would not have put them in sz 19.  I just wanted to move them one space so I could still bring them back to sz 6 during non-combat.  I didn’t even think about what sz I put them in.  I would prefer to take my full two space movement, but instead take them to sz 4.  They will still be in range of your air force if you choose to attack them during Japan’s turn.

    I would also like to land the fighter from Eastern USA on the carrier in sz 4 during non-combat.

    If that is OK with you I will make those adjustments, or you can just go ahead and take your turn and make those adjustments at the beginning of your turn.

    If your not OK with my proposal I’m happy to listen to any counter-proposal you have.  Since it was I who made the error I’m willing to give you the ultimate say.

    My apologies for the confusion.  I assure you I made that move only because I believed it was legal, and the fact that AAA has always let me do it, as well as others I’ve played against, it seemed perfectly legitimate from my standpoint.

    I never assumed or thought that you did something wrong intentionally, was just wondering where the CV+DD’s came from.
