11L LL(+19) v Gamerman01(x) '41 no tech


  • Would be getting to it today.  Since I have mandatory top priority games (JWW is back) I can’t play this one if I have a tournament game to play.  By the time I get that done, I’m not wanting to play another.

    The 72-hour rule was not in effect when we started this game.  This game is under the “try not to let it go more than a week between moves” rule.  To be clear, I am not agreeing to any “72-hour cycle” nor have I ever before.

    You’re kicking my butt in the Pacific and trying to hold Moscow at all costs.  I only have one small-medium fleet in the Pacific, and you’re picking off islands left and right, so I don’t think there is much to remember - no great grand strategy that you had going that you would be disoriented about.  :-)

    I know what it’s like to have to get re-oriented to a game you haven’t been playing for awhile.  I don’t think we’ll have much trouble getting back into this one.

    Like I said, I’m much more available on the weekends so will be moving.

    Yeah the dice continue to fall poorly for me.  You should see my DM game 1 round by Britain.  :|


  • I was just looking at the board and trying to imagine what I would do if I was Axis.  I really don’t know.  Japan is down to 28 income and is facing a tremendous assault.  Although the Allies have been battered in consecutive rounds on the western Russian front, they are fighting only a one front war and have the combined power of the three Allies to defend.  It looks hopeless to me, so if you are able to formulate something, I will be quite impressed.  The good news for me is I don’t have to worry about can-openers since I am not on the offensive with Russia!  :-P

  • I know.  But the 28 income is before my Jap turn, Luck.  I could earn 39 if I really wanted to.  And I’ve been taking in 50 or so for the last several turns, and have a considerable airforce.  I’m threatening to take over a lot of Africa.  I also am looking to move to EUk, and you can’t hold Caucasus and Russia both.  If I can build 4 units a turn in Caucasus, you might have issues.  I don’t like to divulge my plans to an opponent, but I’m not planning anything really tricky.  I’m not sure you see the possibilities, and you never know what the dice will do.  I’ll give up when I’m good and ready.

    Are you asking for a resignation?


  • Also, Germany with a 55 income has a 1-front war - facing absolutely no resistance from the West.  I just picked up both NO’s for Italy, so I’m collecting 5 a turn.  That’s a good number for the Axis.  I think you’re writing up my obituary prematurely.  You definitely have the “upper hand” as JWW would say, but don’t count me dead just yet.

    No not asking for you to quit at all, I was just being honest with what I was seeing - I certainly want to continue.  You are right about the dice though, if they kept up what they have lately, anything is possible.

  • I do know I’m in trouble and have been climbing up hill the whole game.
    I do have plans (and apparently I’m not afraid to share them)  :roll:
    I would be surprised if I can pull it off/out.
    I always quit when I think it’s pointless to continue.

    Had enough A&A for today - hopefully tomorrow.

    Looks like I have to decide whether to take FIC back (probably won’t, unless I decide I have the money to buy a transport), how much to build on Sum (probably want to build fighters if I can because men will be stranded there), and of course, what to do with the 62 fleet.  Will also have to decide whether to take over Eve.
