By the way, engine version 1.8.0.3/game version 3.9 only provides a warning when you overbuy (and option to go back) but does not prohibit an overbuy.
I don’t know if this is the case with all versions or not though.
If anyone takes advantage of that rule, it will be Bold.
Few powers will have the right production capacity relative to income to use it well … but it’s kind of amazing people that the community is still finding fresh loopholes :lol:

Big opportunities for Japan and/or Italy perhaps. When you think about it, opportunities could arise when complexes are heavily damaged, too. Still seems pretty narrow. Has the potential to shock the pants off someone some day. Then that player will have to go get Krieghund or me to support their gamey move… :-P
overbuying is possible with old versions already.
Rulebook says that you get your IPC back (if I remember correctly), while tripleA just saves the unit
Topic is still under discussion. Won’t affect this game, though. Bad enough I’ve used the sub exploit on Wheat before, won’t add the over-buying glitch to it.
I just posted the ultimate solution to this little problem. Obviously, the opponent should get to choose what units are refunded, and that would solve everything. There would be no exploit then, certainly.
