I wanted to save the destroyer as a blocker but forgot in the moment. the tac bomber dropped would replace the one that returned to the carrier but which I meant to destroy.

I think I have a lot to pick up as as playing allies…in round 4 and I am facing possibility of Russia’s collapse! :-o

Its a challenge especially since you had no bid. I also came at the USSR quite aggressively and taking Gibraltar makes it hard for the Americans and UK to quickly increase the pressure in the West. I have come to think that Gibraltar is pretty key for either side to hold because of the value of that naval base to threatening the axis.
I think the odds of taking Russia next turn though are 50%. Not worth the risk given how critical it is, and how bad losing that would be. But I will likely grab the income from volgograd and Caucasus which will likely give me a significant income edge.

It’s true…Without taking a footstep in Gibraltar it’s really hard for me to pressure Italy and Germany at the same. And that make Axis defense easy, which is big trouble to Russia. Once Axis take middle east in control India, Eygpt will all collapse itself. I need to think more ahead next game how to allocate US resource on these.

Because it wouldn’t effect the bombing and because I had the odds, I assumed no intercept. But easy to redo if you prefer.

I might be wrong - I think your bombers won’t have enough range to attack the navy without flying pass Spain, and fighters may not be allowed to fly through neutral territories without attacking it first. The rulebook says “Air units can’t fly over an unfriendly neutral unless they are attacking it.”

they don’t have to go through Spain. They have a move of 7 and can go around the coast. Its 5 moves to attack (Holland, 110, 104, 91, 87) and then 2 moves to land (87 and then Gibraltar). Its tricky because they can’t make it by what appears to be the shorter trip through the med.
